The big difference I saw when shooting a muzzy at distance is wind drift. We had a slight wind 4-6mph and the drift at 250 yards was dramatic. I think the wind drift and shooting distance is the big challenge with a muzzy.......and recoil if you get all froggy. I use 90 of BH209 because I'm a wimp.

Prices will go down!!!! We have seen this many times before. Crazy issue causes demand spike or supply shortage. Issue gets resolved and prices get back to normal. Just a matter of time. The fastest way to drive pricing down is to stop buying guns/ammo/reloading stuff that you don't actually need. Funny story. buddy of mine (who doesn't reload) has purchased thousands of primers, brass, bullets, powder. None of his purchases make any sense but he feels it will be gone forever. Told him to relax but he is just adding to the problem.......with no way to reload a single piece of brass!!!!!!

I did call the other day and they did seem willing to share the info. My guess is the gal didn't have it to share.
-
Yeah I got my refund. So now we just need to know if it for me or my wife!!!!! Come on results.
-
Either me or my wife got the tag. She has 19 points and I've got 26 points. FYI - we didn't put in for MAX units either. Three of the 4 choices were units that had better than 2% odds.
-
I haven't looked at MX really hard for a sheep tag but I think you could get it done in the 40-60K range depending on quality of the ram. There are much higher priced rams available too.
-
I don't have to think about it. I would pay that for all 4 species today and have my slam done by the end of the year!!!!!!
-
It will be a desert. Currently my odds are about 60 - 40. This could be my wife's tag. She has 19 points and had a slightly lower draw percentage than myself so.........It could be her tag or my tag. Either way I'm going to wrap a tag around a sheep this fall and have a life sized mount of a sheep in my house!!!!!!!!! I'm stoked either way.
-
That is what I would hope too. I don't know their process. I do know their process could be improved by 10 fold compared to other states hunt. With that said.......I just want my sheep tag!!!!!!!!

Let's say that someone had a limit less than $2100 on a card and the card got declined. It doesn't mean that the game and fish immediately go to the next person in line and try the next card. Maybe they do but it is a very big assumption that a bunch of people missed out on a sheep tag because they had a limit less than $2100. I would want some facts before I made any statements of how it was handled. Right now the facts are limited.
-
I'm not expecting a call. They should be able to issue a credit without calling us.
-
She said that I would be getting a credit.
-
Just called the G&F and they said I drew a sheep tag and will get a credit. Will take about a week for find out the results and unit.
-
They actually make the money off of people that apply. The thousands of people that pay $13 for an application fee is much larger than the fee of the actual tag. If they really wanted to make money they could say the tag was $1 and then charge $19 for the application fee. That would make more money for the G&F than raising the tag price.
-
Also got the $2100 hit. Could be me or my wife. I will believe it when I have the tag in hand.

Don't know but I've got 7 ram tags!!!!!!
-
Did they give you an answer?
-
got my $2100 charge too. Looks like 7 ram tags for me!!!!!!!!
-
I got hit for $2100 too. What is that all about? I think the G&F has a new tag where you draw every tag in the state for $2100. Sounds great to me!!!!!!
-
so figure this one out. $2100 as a hit and I'm a resident. I put in for sheep but only put in for Buff points. $25 bucks is my sons youth deer tag
-
Well if my card gets hit them I at least have a 1 in 3 chance of it being my tag at that point. Could be my wife, son or myself. Really rooting for myself!!!!!!!!!

Personally I think MX is a great time. There is risk for sure. For the record. I've been hunting in the US and seen really bad guys from MX with black guns. I was never harmed but being less than 100 yards from bad dudes with black guns multiple times will give you a rush far greater than hunting ever will. Not in a good way either. This doesn't mean that I don't hunt near the border but I do try and avoid the areas where there is thicker illegal activity. Danger can be anywhere and everywhere. You need to be aware of your surroundings and keep your cool. Bad things can happen in MX or Tucson or Gilbert.

Go get a buck grunt call. Just a normal eastern whitetail buck grunt call. Louder the better. When you hit the grunt call (if they are in the rut) they will run you over 75% of the time. Works even better on the bucks that are with does because they feel like the buck is coming to cause trouble. The other 25% of the time they run like heck the other direction. If you also have a decoy it can get even more exciting!!!!!! Only figured this out one day because I was super crazy pissed at goats and tried every call (elk, rabbit, deer, coyote, quail, ect.) in my pack. Just about got ran over with the deer grunt call. who knew? BTW - I believe that goats deserve to have a rifle pointed at them. I will only hunt goats with a rifle moving forward and it will only be out of revenge!!!!!! Though I did kill one with a bow. Hence the revenge needed.

To me it looks like 2 opinions. The first group has went down to Mexico and had a good experience. The second group is scared $hitless to go give it a try.
