All this hype about Arizona's fall from #2 to unranked. Arizona has only lost 1 game since. ASU got all the way up to #3 and has since gone 3-5 and will be unranked next week. Tough when other coaches actually put a game plan together to beat you rather than overlook you.

Another home loss for ASU. They were firmly a tournament team but that bubble is getting bigger now.

Found the buck I'm after. Need a little stalk advice.

I read somewhere to use scuba booties. Soft neoprene but more resilient to thorns than just socks. I haven't tried it yet, never think about it until I'm barefoot in the middle of a stalk. -
Uh oh, devils learning what its like to get their opponents best.

For the record, there are plenty of people who have no affiliation with ASU that claim to be ASU fans. Both my parents went to UA, I grew up a UA fan and never considered going anywhere else. I went to UA as did my brother and I met my wife there. I currently live in Tucson and love everything but the heat and the Democratic politics. When I go to Phoenix I can't get out of there soon enough. In 5 minutes from my house I can be in a wilderness and glass coues and sheep. If only there were elk closer! Bear down!!!

I have a Kuiu icon pro 3200 that is my day pack and 5200 for longer backpack trips. I upgraded from eberlestock and an older external frame pack. In my opinion the Kuiu carries weight very well, but I can't compare to kifaru and some of the others. I have packed out 2 bull elk, a muley buck, and a bear with the kuiu, all heavy loads with great comfort. I looked seriously at the kifaru, stone glacier, and mystery ranch and liked the organization and price of the Kuiu icon pro much better

Kuius zip off ones are very convenient. Drop pants, zip on/off, pull pants back up and keep going. Never have to take off boots. I believe their synthetic ones are cheaper than merino.

I was flown from Springerville to Tucson back in 2015 due to a brain bleed. Cost was just under $50k, flight time was just under 50 minutes. $1000 per minute

Yes, had ASU made a few more threes they could have won, but UAs defense had a lot to do with that. Had UA not had a bunch of stupid turnovers, especially towards the end of the game, it could have been a double digit win. ASUs pressure also had something to do with those turnovers. Not sure what look you are talking about with UA fans? UA fans are used to, and expect to win. Nobody rushed the court, it was a big win but in the end just another win. If ASU wins in Tempe I'm sure the court will get rushed and the ASU trash talk will be flowing, but ASU has to protect their home court first. For the last three decades ASU has benefitted by playing teams the same weekend as UA. ASU has stolen plenty of wins because they get overlooked. If ASU is going to sustain this success they are going to have to get used to always getting the other teams best. This year's ASU team is a very good senior led team so I suspect they will be able to.

My youngest thought it was Santa Claus

Sean Elliott, went to high school in AZ, went to U of A, had the best college basketball career of any UA/ASU player, had a successful NBA career unfortunately shortened by injuries

I started use cut resistant gloves too. I wear them under a pair of latex gloves. They wouldn't have saved your leg but they save a bunch of cuts and pokes on the hands.

75 yard muley
-
I've shot a coues at 500 yds and muley at 75 yards with the 210 LR accubond out of my 300 WM. Both were hard quartering angles and the bullets traveled through the entire length of the body, being recovered in the offside hide. Textbook mushrooms with solid base perfectly intact. Roughly 55% weight retention on both. Not sure if it is my gun or the bullets but loading has been very finicky. Ultimately got 1/2 moa groups but the accuracy node is very small with varying powder charges. I have only experimented with h1000 as I want to use a temp stable powder

Strelok app question (zeroing question as well)
kwp replied to AZHUNTER05's topic in Long Range Shooting
Make sure your scope height is entered correctly. That can have a huge impact on the calculated drop -
Out of curiosity, what went wrong with your pack?

Hopefully she doesn't come into estrus!

If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.

Start at the corner of Sahuarita Rd and Hwy 83. Hike southwest, continue until you find your big buck or Nogales.

I used to love 36b before all the deer got slaughtered by 4000 annual deer tags.
-
The whole guide vs no guide debate is interesting. Sure, strip tags are few and far between and they give a real chance at killing an absolute monster. I would love a 220"+ buck on my wall as much as the next guy but I'd rather kill a 180 buck myself than a 220 guided. Take the $5k you'd spend on a guide and upgrade your optics (Swaro BTX!) and use them to kill multiple big animals. Hunt hard, enjoy the experience, don't put too much pressure on yourself, and be proud of what you bring home.

Pretty informative article: https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/caring-sleeping-bag.html?cm_mmc=email_com_gm-_-PP_Camp_SleepingBag_T1_D1-_-060417-_-sleepBagT1_cta_readCareTips&ev36=&rmid=PP_Camp_SleepingBag_T1_D1&rrid=198049955&ev11=&mi_u=198049955

My latest portal info is still 2016 so it seems to be loading at different speeds for different people

Anybody have the leftover deer tag lists from the past few years? 2016 being of most interest but 15 and 14 too if available. Thanks!

I've had just over 2" this week at my house in NW Tucson.
