  1. I think its all preference when it comes to how one chooses to keep their rifle barrel clean. I've heard that you must clean after so many rounds ect....My rifle that I shoot has not had the barrel scrubbed or ran a fouler round threw it sense the break in processes just swabbed now and again and was built in 92.My father has a 300 win mag that he bought 34 years ago and the same thing either one of these rifles have had at least on the light side 3000 rounds easy both have been bore scoped a couple of years ago and show minimal ware and build up. just my 2 penny's

  2. It was a rough one this year for whatever reason... The bucks we were watching disappeared on us like only a coues can. I ended up shooting a spike on wednesday and 2 of my buddies each got 2x3's with 2 hours of light left on the last day! (why does it always seem to happen like that?)

Not sure where the bucks were this year? plus the temps were up that's the only thing I can think of they just never really moved like they usually do? definitely not the same as other years

Same issue for us. We found em bedded early and staying bedded till after dark. Not an easy year for that hunt.

the one that i got we watched him and 1 other buck feed down hill for about 2 hours then bed about 600 yards away then mine got up and moved down about 80 yards from the other 1 and didnt move for a while.

definitley not the tipical hunt that we are used to

  4. Yeah on the powerline road. We werent with those other guys. We were camped right at the Mud Springs Draw crossing. You guys said you were headed to the bottom then we saw you all again as you were coming back up i assume.

Yep that was us. nothing moving that afternoon just a couple of doe's this year was ruff didn't see the quality of bucks as we did last year but it was also 15 to 20 deg hotter than last year but still as always alot of fun!!!!

  5. DB, I think we talked for a minute or so on Monday or Tuesday. My buddy and I had just hiked up out of the canyon and were standing at out quads.

Congrats on going four for four. No easy task.

Yeah on tuesday on the powerline road, were you with the guys that were hunting the guys up the canyon on that lookout north of us with a white or silver ranger?

  6. The early hunt was tough this year warm temps and not a lot of bucks moving. My brother killed his on the first day at 200 yards almost straight down hill and it took 3 hours to get it out of there. Mine was easy almost drove to him he was headed out of a small pond headed up hill at 450 yards running,I shot 4x the last shot found its mark
