This was the first gun I bought for myself, 1966 or '67. $21 at GLF in Port Jervis New York, $.40 for a box of 50 -.22's . I still have it and it was the gun I had my kids and grandkids shoot when I taught them.

A great time at the cabin with my brother and good friends. Opening day in the low 20’s , no snow, clear and sunshine. Couple of bear cubs hanging around the cabin , never saw mama.

Bob, the east coast guys all made it. Saw a lot of does , 1 spike and 2 lions. always a good time.

Bow season in New York

Singleshot, thanks for the stroll down memory lane . I carry my grandfathers model 14 in 32 rem every year back in the catskills ( I refer to it as 'I'm going to take Grandpa for a walk'. ) and it always brings back memories of the times I had with him. We are lucky men.

Took a day trip from Phx yesterday. Deer seem healthy and plentiful. 7 weeks and counting.

Tony, was amazing to glass with a tripod for the first time. Glassed a buck up under one of the oaks at 840 yds. I look forward to one more scouting trip and opening day. Thank you.

I often forget how verdant the Catskills are.

Through the years, I spent big money on my Readers Digest subscription and the feature ' build your word power' was a favorite.

Wonderful to see the boys and their headgear. I will be at the cabin in New York for opening day this year, the first time in 29 years. I am gonna miss the 'Third week group' and 29 years worth of stories. Looking forward to October in 36B and November in 3K .
