My father in law inherited an old gun used by a family member who was an officer back in the day. The gun looks to be in great shape but he wants to shoot it and have a box or two of ammo to keep with it. I know it’s not chambered in 38 special and I did some digging around the interwebs to come up the short Colt and 38 S&W. I was leaning more towards the short Colt but it sounds like I could be wrong. Thanks for all the info guys!

With ELR’s? Skirt hits my brake so it shoots terrible. Take the brake off and shoots good.

I bought this gun a year or two ago from a buddy. I wanted a nice rifle with a wood stock. It is nice for sure, but will sit in my safe because I don’t want to beat it up on hunts. I’ve only put 5 rounds through it since I have owned it. Would like to trade for another 270 WSM but open to other calibers also. Could trade just rifles or throw in everything how it sits (seekins rings, PST first gen). Located in Gilbert
