I saw one a few years ago in 33 but unfortunately I was hunting deer at the time

My pre-64 model 70 in .270 is the ugliest gun I own and is also the one I have taken more game with than all my other rifles combined. I never even considered refinishing it cause I will just beat it up again since I use it so much.

How many animals have you harvested in Arizona

3 coues,3 muleys,3 javelinas,3 elk, and 1 turkey I need 2 more turkeys to keep my streak of 3s -
mine was a pre 64 Winchester 30-30 that I shot my first coues buck with and then put it in the safe where it has been ever since my dad gave me my old reliable model 70 .270 win.

That's a great buck, you should have him scored for sure he makes the book for SCI they have a separate category for the desert mule deer.

I shot my first coues deer with mine around 1991 and it's been a safe queen ever since. Great deal for a great gun

Model 70 Win..270 loaded with 130 gr. Berger VLD's or Rem 700 7MM Rem Mag with 140 Gr. VLD's depending on where I am hunting that day both rifles topped with Nikon 3x9 x40s

My brother has this rifle with a Huskama scope I saw him drop a 6x7 bull at 833 yards no problem. The down side is the price of the ammo. I have fired it and the kick is no more than my .270 win.

You might consider buying a hind quarter instead of a half a cow. You get more prime cuts and not so much stew meat and hamburger
-
I have seen whitetail and big mule deer taken with a mini-14 but it would not be the caliber of choice for mule deer

It's real I received mine today MD 33

This is my favorite rant and the reason I no longer fish at Roosevelt. To start with I must drive almost 100 miles which means I must have a vehicle which requires a license plate = tax ,I must put fuel in my vehicle=gas tax, I must have a drivers license=tax, If I want to fish from a boat it must have registration=tax, my boat requires a trailer which also need a license plate=tax, Then I must buy a fishing license=tax, two pole and trout stamp now included with license=tax, you need a Tonto Pass=tax you must pay to park=tax, campsite=tax that's ten taxes and I haven't even drowned a worm yet oh I did not even mention the sales tax on my rod reel and lures

Check out the safari sling. I like to carry my gun in a ready position it also gives you the option of going hands free if you need too.

Hello and welcome to the site. You should be able to find javalina anywhere around Tucson no need for a guide. I am in Oracle and have pigs in my yard almost daily. If you have trouble getting started I am sure some of the locals would be happy to get you started in the right direction. By the way it is 76 degrees with sunshine in Tucson today and all the fruit trees are blooming. Build a snowman for me
