Need help finding a LR rifle

I definitely agree with you, but savage doesnt offer a 26" stainless fluted rifle , unless i missed something.... The model 12 LRP has all the features, just not available in 7mm and it weighs a ton. I own a sendero and the LRP is heavy..ha ha. To be honest with you i am not even remotely familiar with the savage line, i dont even know which rifle would be a good starting point. ss, fluted, 26" isnt a deal breaker for him, it just what he would prefer. And i was trying to get opinions of sako, or others? Or should i just tell him to stick with a 700 or savage?

Nobody's even remotely interested? Is it the round or the price, that is deterring people?

    5B november rifle

That would be another good topic of debate, should i stay in the pines or head out to the juniper and pinions? I'm very comfortable shooting to 500 yards, and am slowing pushing further past that.

    Non-resident tag info...

As usual we are putting in for mule deer, three of us total. My cousin is from cali and called and wants to put in on our tag. I'm not sure how this would work, but i imagine have 3 residents and a non resident will really screw up your draw odds. What opinions do you guys have of this? Or should he put it on his own tag?

    remington 700 sendero nightmare

North Phoenix Sportsmans Warehouse has excellent service. Terry at the gun counter is very knowledgeable, and i trust his opinion. I rarley shop anywhere else, nor do i like to deal with anyone other than Terry. Glad it's going back to Remington without any issues.

    remington 700 sendero nightmare

I have that exact rifle and mine is a tack driver even with my lower end Vortex Diamondback scope. I am waiting for my hs-lr 6x24 to stop being on national backorder...ugh. It sounds like a scope issue like everyone else stated. I do know Remington will stand behind that rifle to the max. When i purchased my Sendero, there was a scratch under the texture on the stock. One simple email to Remington and i had a brand new stock sent from HS precision, in 2-3 days, they didn't ask for pictures, nor did they even ask for the old stock back. So now i have an extra stock lol. I would do the scope swap, and then contact Remington. Or just save yourself the headache, i will offer $550 as is.

    10 Bonus Points, What Unit?

Hold out for 12aw, or the strip. I've been to the Kiabab 7 times, it's epic, everyone should experience it. There are no lies about the giants in there. Trust me....

    Sendero setup help

I recently purchased a Reminton Sendero 7mm, i am starting to get into shooting past 500 yards. I was trying to duplicate the Sendeo build from Gunwerks. I own lots of Vortex products, i have narrowed by scope choices to the 6x24x50 but can't decide on the PST or HS-LR. I know the differences between the two, just curious if anyone had an expericence or comparison advice? Also i have narrowed by rings and bases to the Tally one piece setup, i cant seem to find a local dealer who has them. According to Tallys website there are dozens of height options for the 700, and im totally lost, can anyone point me in the right direction on finding a set, specific part numbers or height options, preferably the ones that mount the lowest using the PST or HS-LR? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    First time tag holders

  22. Hi everyone, I've been reading these forums for quite some time. I decided to become a member. I'm mostly a mule deer hunter, mainly kiabab. I am very green to coues whitetail, I hunted them once before a long time ago. I drew the Black Friday 35b hunt. I went out scouting this past weekend, it was pretty cold in the canyons. I spent most of my time glasses, however I only saw a handful of does, no bucks, and a pile of turkey's. Thankfully no Muleys either. Can anyone offer me some tips or pointers, other than glassing till I'm red in the face? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    35B help please Black Friday...

I don't know if I should waste my time checking the trick tanks or watering holes, there was a lot of water on the roads and all over. Anyone have a opinion on which slopes I should be glassing, north or south facing slopes?

    12A West Advice??

Hi everybody, i was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on my upcoming 12A West Deer hunt starting Oct. 21st. I would consider myself a beginner level deer hunter, i've only shot two deer on the Kaibab before and neither of them are worth mentioning. I was up in the Kaibab this past weekend to do some scouting before my upcoming deer hunt. I saw well over 70 plus does and only 4 bucks, and about 30 turkeys. The bucks that i did see were all spikes, and all of the bucks were in a herd of all other does and fawns. I was up before dawn and out until dark to scout, i checked out multiple terrains and multiple elevations. The weather was hanging around 30 degrees before dawn and about 50 at dusk. Let me make this clear i'm not looking for a trophy buck by any means, but i'm looking for something better than a spike. I was unable to locate any deer that were remotely good looking. My question is where do you guys think they would be? I was told by another avid hunter that the mature bucks are higher in elevation, and more at the top of the elevation/terrain. I don't know how true this statement is? Can anyone tell me what they have noticed the habits of the mature bucks are? I would have loved to see atleast one mature buck this past weekend but i didn't. Also the Kaibab suffered a large fire towards the North Rim on the HWY 67, i checked inside the burn area and their was quite a few does in there and only one spike. Whats your opinion on hunting the burned area? Any advice on located the mature bucks would be greatly appreciated. Are the deer staying up high until the snow pushes them off? Or does extremely cold weather push the bucks off the mountains? I believe it was 5 degrees outside during my last opening morning without a drop of snow on the ground. Thanks guys in advice.
