  1. This is my then 16 year old son. He was very disciplined to shoot a lot all summer and even every day in camp. The hardest time I had was calling for him and trying to tell him to draw. He didn’t realize how fast it can happen and then be gone. So we ended up sitting water and he easily 10-ringed this bull from a well practiced sitting position. He could easily shoot my bow at 63 pounds. But we left him at 55 pounds so he could slowly draw and hold for awhile. Also, the older my kids get, the less available time they have to hunt, between school, sports and the opposite sex, there’s a small window to hunt.

  2. I broke a rear rim on my 2017 Polaris ranger 1000 this weekend. Anyone by chance have one they want to sell. I’ll pay shipping if it’s out of town. I’ll post a picture of the stock rim. Thank you for looking!!

The other picture is where a rock kicked up  into the backside of the rim and punched a big hole thru the aluminum.

  5. Ya. Was planning to leave tomorrow with kids to hunt 5A. Sounds like roads will stay closed in 5A. Any advice for over the counter youth turkey in 5B would be appreciated.

    Thank you

  6. A mentor or someone to look up to has been huge for my high schoolers. Whether it’s a coach, teacher, pastor or neighbor rancher.  My wife and I do a ton with and for our kids, but we are still “Mom and Dad”. My buddy says the exact same thing I do to my son and he takes it as gold. My daughters Coach gives her the same advise I do and she listens. Either way, our goal has been to love them and provide discipline at home. And to find a way to put great people in their life for them to reach to be one day.

I would brainstorm with your wife and daughter and find a strong young woman that is just a few years older than your daughter. Maybe a young coach she knows or a young adult from church. Maybe early college or a senior in high school that can have coffee or go for a hike on a trail. That young woman has likely been in your daughters shoes very recently and understands social media and bullying in today’s world that we did not have 20 years ago. You may never know the conversation that takes place but you will get a feel for how it went when she gets home and the days that follow.
