I have the 20-60x and LOVE it. I carry 10x Razor HD's as well so I like to have as much reach as possible with the spotting scope when I switch from my binos. If you want to look through the spotting scope in an outdoor scenario let me know. We could probably meet up somewhere. As for Viper vs Razor HD, they are honestly both great glass. Both give crystal clarity, but Razors have slightly better clarity out on the edges. Worth the extra money IMO, but if you went with the Vipers you'd be very happy.

Up until I moved down into Gilbert I use to train at that one as well. Remember the hot asian that was slightly top heavy? Yeah, that's my wife

oh no the cwt police are gonna school you on wilderness areas and trail cams now. Oh you got that right, if you don't know the rules in wilderness areas don't go in them. No cameras allowed. GPS coordinates of any cams in wilderness will be sent to fs and they will be confiscated. That's what I've been told anyway by the wilderness police I do know the rules of the Wilderness areas pretty well, as I have been hiking them for years. I always understood it as it was ok provided no limbs were cut and you didn't screw it into the tree. Basically, no damaging the tree in any way. I just tried researching it for a bit as well and all I could find is internet police saying it isn't permitted. I'll have to make a call somewhere I guess, and ask them to tell me where I can find the answer.

No, this is 10 yards off a road at a water catchment. Thats good to hear. I think I would lose it if I hiked 5-10 miles back only to find out that my cameras had been jacked!

Currently go to the LaFitness on Power and Germann.

That may or may not be accurate. Tough to say really, but overall I agree with trphyhntr. Those are generally not very accurate. It should never take into account how much weight you "want to lose per week". You should calculate out your basal metabolic rate, adjust for activity, then add 500 for lean weight gain and subtract 500 for efficient fat loss. Efficient fat loss is a maximum of 2lbs/week. Any more than that and you likely start to eat into muscle. Only exception is morbidly obese people. Also, as said earlier, you never want to eat increased quantities based solely on exercise. Instead, you should be accounting for exercise in your overall diet and adjust your intake. I can try to explain, but the physiology can pretty complicated and boring. You will see maximum results by planning your days out ahead of time and properly balancing all of your meals and macros. A small part of the process is confusing your body by making it believe there is an abundance of food while it is actually at a deficit. If you want I would be happy to send you my spreadsheet.

Absolutely. Lifting weights is essential to a good plan. It creates muscular balance to stabilize your joints, and increases your metabolic efficiency. I was pretty jacked last year, but blew my ACL out for a second time and had surgery back in February. Just got cleared to start lifting 6 weeks ago so I am back at it now.

The plan I send to everyone is such that you enter all of your info into one page, then it spits out your daily intake requirements. On the next page it is set up for you to plan out your week of meals that meet the daily requirements. I could send all the recipes and you could use what I have set up, or alter it to fit whatever food allergies you might have.

You can also sign up for Gearhog, I know they offer deals all the time for NFA trusts through reputable trust websites. My dad did one a couple weeks back.

dang, I was planning to go hang a couple trail cams here soon up in 22N. Was this back in the Mazatzal Wilderness? I plan to backpack in there for my October hunt.

I have had amazing luck with the Schnee's Beartooth 8" boot. The support they provide dwarfs the support that I used to get with the Under Armor and Danner boots I have previously used. They have also outlasted them both as well, and still seem to have quite a bit of life left in them. The thought of spending that much on boots is nauseating, but worth it in the long run.

Definitely good packs. I had the chance to try a couple and thought they were really nice, but never took one backcountry. Ended up going Kifaru though, and can say the Kifaru is the best pack I have ever thrown on. WAY better than the Sitka packs I have had, but so are the Kuiu's. That being said, I did a crap ton of research before biting the bullet and it seemed like everything pointed to Kifaru, Mystery Ranch and Stone Glacier as being the best packs on the market in that order. Personally never tried out a Mystery Ranch or Stone Glacier though.

Have you ever had any issues? I live in Gilbert as well and can get 35 yards in backyard, but I really want to train at longer distances of 60-70 yards. Thought about going to a field or park, but not sure if it the public parks permit it.

Wow that is DEFINITELY sweet!!!

recommendations for ground blind and trail cam

Honestly you can't beat the Browning trail cams in bang for your buck. I did a ton of research before deciding on mine. Work great and they aren't crazy expensive. -
Back country backpack trip for Coues
jp0212 replied to AZ_SAWBUCK's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I agree. It stings when you buy it, but the super light backpacking 2 person tents are awesome. I have the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2. The tent, fly, footprint and the rest of the whole shebang weighs about 3.5 lbs. Not the biggest tent in the world, but my wife and I have both slept in it with our gear before comfortably. Worth it to buy an REI membership then use the 20% off coupon then use it on the tent. -
Yeah, my hesitance when I bought them was that they are only a two ply sidewall. That definitely means they aren't quite as good in rocky areas. Probably would have avoided them back in my heavy off-roading days. Thankfully now my dad has two Rhino's that we use for that kind of stuff instead. I also plan to add a RZR in the near future. I agree that if you intend on hitting heavy rock types of trails they might not be a great idea. I'd go for the Wrangler MT/R w/ Kevlar. Either way I like the Goodyear's over others.
-
Can't go wrong with a Nitto, but I agree with what was said above about Toyo being better. That being said, I take the Goodyear Duratrac over all other AT's. They are truly awesome in the snow and mud on a full size truck.

So who do you fight for if you think it's both sides of the political spectrum that are destroying this country? Or should I just sit back with some popcorn and welcome the freedom of no competition in the big game draw?

Man that would be amazing! I am REALLY hoping this year to make it happen here in Arizona. Been super close more times than I can count. I really think with a rifle I'll be able to seal the deal. How is the meal plan/spreadsheet coming along?
-
Anyone have any questions yet? Also, does anyone want any of the recipes for the meals I eat on the spreadsheet? I can honestly say I enjoy pretty much all of the meals on there except the breakfast meals. The "Moco Loco" breakfast is great but the yogurt and egg stuff gets old. As for everything else thought it is really good. That's a lot coming from me. I can honestly say I'm a bit of a food snob haha.

Duuuude, maybe you can save me the cost of my annual flight up to Wyoming and I'll take you on an Antelope hunt that is pretty much a guaranteed kill haha.
-
I sure as heck hope so. My first choice was the December Unit 22 Rifle hunt. Odds aren't quite in my favor on that one so I'd be stoked! 22 white tail if you want it. OMG!! That's exactly what I'm hoping to see on my wall! I'd give anything for a buck like that. My luck in Arizona has been rough. Lots of kills in Wyoming but nothing here at home. I love this state so much I named my daughter Arizona Grace and rock an Arizona flag belt buckle haha! I so badly want to shoot a nice buck and have the wall pedestal cut into the shape of Arizona. That would be even more iconic with a Coues!
