I was able to go hunt in unit 29 over the weekend and got lucky. Saw lots of bucks, the one I was after gave me the slip in some thick brush but was able to kill this guy before I had to leave. Had a great time.

Love the character of that rack., I'd say you met your goal even if it's not the specific buck you were after. Good job

Thanks everybody, there are canyons there that probably never get hunted and some that get way overhunted like most units. If you hike an hour maybe a half hour away from the road you will leave most others behind. All and all I think it is a great unit for coues with the potential for a big one every year. Keven

Thank you for making the survey. I just completed it. I answered I don't know for the question about including regular citizens or current board members only. It seems that the same people are always involved on the boards so some new blood would probably be a good thing. That said in the past I have declined positions on different boards because I know I wouldn't have been able to make the proper commitment. The people who show up and volunteer their time and effort are to be commended but I don't know if they always make the best decisions. I hope everything works but I don't know the best way forward on this. Keven

I don't think steep applies to deer. If they want to go there, they go there. I've seen a coues doe go up a cliff that her fawn had to attempt 3 times before she made it.

I was blessed to be a part of and had a great deer season. It started with my nephews drawing the youth tags and both killing there first bucks. I couldn't be prouder. I then had the first general hunt in October and was lucky enough to get this fine buck. I just got back from my friend Justo's ranch in Sonora. My brother was able to get this little moose coues. I was also able to get it done on a buck I thought only existed in my dreams. Thanks to everybody that helped me out and good luck to all you hunters out there. Keven
