    Bumper hitch vs 5th Wheel

I've had both. used them for work and hunting/camping. Depends on what your use is. Fifth Wheels might be better if your planning on living in it part time. The Gooseneck offest adapters help with how they hook up, but most compromise stability. I had an 9"offset gooseneck adapter for fifth wheel. BUT, I prefer bumper pull overall. I've got a 32' BP Toy Hauler now and its about right. Has plenty of sleeping space bedroom up front, two drop down queens, generator, fuel tank and can fit my ranger crew! no need for a monster fifth wheel. Fifth Wheel Pros: Can pull faster and more stable down interstate. Usually more room once set up. Usually some more storage. Cons: Loose room in bed, pain in butt to level and unhook, higher ain't always better. Taller hits trees. Bumper Pull Pros: Way easier to hook up (I even have sway bars to hook up). no loss of truck space, no risk of denting bed rails, easier to maneuver at gas station. Cons: Can't go 80 down I-10 as easy. (Still does 70 well w/sway bars). NO Other Cons for a BP IMHO.
  2. You know you wanna get outa da house and go to the lake! This 2007 Tracker Pro Team 170 won’t let you down. 50 HP Mercury Runs Great. Needs someone who’s electrical savvy to get gauges working. I’m sure they are simple fixes. Navigation lights work. Rod storage, #40 thrust trolling motor. Live well (rock stuck in pump need someone with small arm). Two bank Battery maintainer/charger, just plug it in wait a bit n’GO. Spare tire and canvas cover included. Fun boat for 1-2 ppl. Good condition. $6,700 text602-292-9264 thx Jason

    Paying Children Allowance

Mornin! Looking into different ideas or systems for paying my kids their allowance. Getting cash out and paying them in cash weekly has its advantages and challenges. Do any of you use Apps or have this electronically set up, pros and cons of doing it that way? Thanks in advance for the input. Jason

    Paying Children Allowance

Thanks for all the input. Some great ideas and different opinions here. Kids need to learn how money works first hand. I got some allowance when I was young, not much but enough to give me the taste of $$ and want more. I also got my A$$ to work well before I was able to drive and have always had a job ever since. They need to learn how to spend some and save some, They also need to learn that some of what they earn is theirs to keep! Problem we were running into was staying consistent about paying them. That's why I was asking about an app. its 2021 makes sense to me. You could pay them through it or deduct payment if they didn't do the chores, would show % going into savings.....could be a great tool I think. Anyhow after hearing ya'lls input, I'm thinking 50% of their weekly allowance onto Roth or ESA account and the remainder in cash IF the chores get done. My kids are 8 and 11. I like the idea of them working for other people (I did when I was about their age). Just too many weirdos out there these days to cut them loose just yet. Thanks JS

    Rotomold Coolers

I had to know so I asked Canyon direct, where their coolers are made? Pro series are made in Prescott. Outfitter series are made in Thailand.

    Rotomold Coolers

Coolers are at a different level than they were 10 years ago! Your going to find the Ol' Dodge vs Ford vs Chevy on this one! They are all nice and better than the old igloo's that everyone has historically used. I have Canyons and RTIC's. I will say this CANYON coolers are MADE IN ARIZONA!!! They make a great cooler and I like their business model and costumer service. They also partner with some great companies. Precool and use frozen jugs for bulk ice and you'll be happy with whatever you get!

Input wanted - Hunting with a 10 year old

Lots of good info here! Including them in all the aspects of the hunt are important. They need to be part of it and struggle a bit, but most importantly they have fun!! We just got back from a youth hunting trip, there were two things I noticed that we could have done different this past season that would have made a big difference. 1. Make sure their hunting/hiking boots fit and are comfortable. Worst thing you can do is let them put old boots on from last season or hand me downs that don't fight right. Have them break them in or even wear their shoes to school before the hunt. One way to ruin the hunt quickly is with sore feet. Sportsman's or Big 5 are great places to look for kids hiking boots. 2. Make sure they can shoot in different positions and are comfortable with shooting. Nothing worse than having to track a wounded animal. After all this is one part of the hunt that has little margin for error. Accuracy is paramount when hunting.....even with kids!! Also, Camping in a group or letting them take a sibling cousin or friend can make it a lot more enjoyable.

    New pack recommendation?

Here's a small sample of the adventures I have used the Kuiu 7200 on in the past few years............gonna be pretty hard to convince me there is a better built lighter pack out there. Cinches down small enough for "day" hunts. I've got a 7200 and a 5200 picked them both up off this site for $250 each in like new condition. Nice thing about the 7200, you hardly ever have to strap gear onto the outside of it, makes for quick packing and an even load.

    New pack recommendation?

I've had the Outdoorsmans optic pack. I loved it other than it was a little on the heavy side empty and it squeaked really bad (i sold it before i broke it in). Frame was a little big for my torso I'm 5'5" medium build. For a big guy I'd for sure look at this pack closely. nice packs! I sold the Outdoorsmans and bought a Kuiu Icon Pro 7200. Been running it for several years and don't have any big complaints other than fabric and zippers could be a little more durable. But I've abused mine for the last 4 seasons and its still usable. Rides great if you balance weight, and can hold more gear and meat than you can carry. I actually just picked up a slightly used 5200 on this website, I'll run it this year. (you can find good deals)! I've had (have) an Eblerstock pack. It's OK....... not really in the high-end category in my opinion. If you do one or two hunts a year they will work. But if you go hauling heavy loads for more than a few consecutive days you're going to want something a little more substantial with a stiffer frame. Can't speak for Kifaru, never owned one but they look rugged....not sure how they ride or what the pocket configuration is like. I'm wondering when Marsupial is going to come out with a pack......... they pretty much nailed it with the bino harness!
