The I’ve been drawn for DEER thread

My bud and I got a tag in either 36 AorB early hunt with 3 points. Put in for basically the same hunt last year and didn't get drawn with 2 points.

How long until cards are hit??

The original app fee was 58.00 each. G&F pulled a 13.00 fee upfront. Leaving 45.00 due if drawn. 45.00x3=135.00.

    308 powder Update

IMR-4064 is old school .308. TAC is supposed to be pretty good in a .308, but I've never tried it. I have used a lot of WW-748, which is very accurate, but temp sensitive. IMR or H 4895 will also work. Never used N-150, but I have used N-135, which worked ok.

    Update on a Cool Find

My Dad has my Grandfather's dogtag from the same era as yours. I think then they were worn on their boot rather around the neck.

    Update on a Cool Find

Those Vietnam era dog tags are different from the ones I was issued. These have the Name, serial number. The letters RA means Regular Army then the number Mr. Jarvis was issued. It was SSN after about 1967. The T58 was the year he got his Tetanus shot 1958. That info wasn't on ours. Blood type, that was on ours and then religious preference. That notch on the left side was to place in your teeth with a closed mouth if you were killed in action, which wasn't on my era dog tags. Late 70's and 80's.

    Cool find

Maybe it was a case of one Vet looking out for another one! I'm 100% sure you will have to Google that.

    Cool find

That would be my guess also. It was from a time when no one would put a tranny on a can of beer, that's for sure. It was early to mid 70's when Coors had that two button push on their cans, before that it was just a pull tab, and before that it was with a can opener like the above can.

    Worst Waste of Money

It's a butt out tool. The biggest piece of junk that I ever bought was a Kelbly trigger. It never did work right, even sent it back and it still didn't work.

    Three Shotguns

Remington 1100 12 gauge, 28in barrel, fixed Mod choke, 2 3/4 inch shells. Used very little. There is a chip on the forearm, other than that excellent shape. Asking 750.00. Remington 11-87 Super Magnum 12 gauge, 28 inch barrel, rem mod, full, ic, and 2 Turkey chokes. This is an older J lock model, and comes with 2 J lock keys. 2 3/4 or 3 inch shells. The shotgun was left in a case and the heat caused the recoil pad to stick to the case. Asking 700.00 Remington 11, 12 gauge, 29 inch barrel, full choke. This is an older shotgun that is missing some blueing in places, and the stock and forearm are showing some wear, but is in pretty good shape for its age. This looks like a Browning, but when the patent ran out, Remington started making them. Asking 400.00. I'll post pics of the other side later. I am selling these two for my Ex SIL, reasonable offers only, lowballers don't waste your time or mine. Both were function fired with Winchester and Fiochi shells, both fired and extracted great. Located in Chandler. PM with any questions.

  22. The way is works at Rio, you have to shoot 3 matches of the same flavor, and if the match director thinks that you show some proficiency with safety, you are oked to use that range, when it is not being used for a match or some specialty group doesn't have use of it. They used to let anyone on the HP and SB ranges and the targets were all shot to pieces, Steel targets were moved all over the place, plastic jugs, rocks and whathave you were shot up and left, so now they do it this way. Every now and then someone slips through the cracks. It was either at Rio or Ben Avery (Ben Avery used to do their specialty ranges the same way) a guy went to the silhouette range and I guess he thought it was a good idea to bring along his wife and have her spot for him, he was shooting pigs at the 300 meter line, and she was right there spotting his hits for him, right at the 300 meter line. Either Wed or Thursday used to be a maintenance day at Rio and the main range would close, and everyone would shoot at the HP range.

    .

Probably what Lucafu1 said. Have you shot any factory .260 brass in that rifle? If you have take a caliper and measure the outside of the neck. That will be your chamber neck diameter, next measure the loaded necked down ammo that you have around the neck. If you haven't fired any .260 brass, use the neck diameter off from that Hornady case, since it will chamber. That LC brass is typically thicker than factory brass. Bullets might be seated long, and or brass to long. How far will the bolt get before you have trouble closing it?
