    Mexico eases Travel Requirements

I am also interested. We have hunters going in Jan and that would save us some headaches and time. But for the last year or so they have been talking about doing away with the 21. desertsheep

    New Hunting Opportunity in Mexico!

Alonso, The only reason El Halcon charges the price they do is because for several season they have proven themsevels and their ranch. If you want to attract hunters you are going to have show you have the deer that these guys are willing to shoot. I know most outfitters starting out in Mexico had to start at a little lower price. Most all of these guys are regular hard working guys including myself. To spend that kind of money is going to take your ranch showing me it can produce B&C bucks. I am in no way putting your ranch down. Looks like a great ranch and a great oppertunity to be one of the first ones on the ranch for a shot at a big buck. But there is lots of ranches in Mexico that I have been to and been told they have never been hunted and they havnt produced good deer. DESERTSHEEP

    New Hunting Opportunity in Mexico!

Blaserman, If I am correct the price with El Halcon is $3950.00 plus gun permit. And I think we paid $450.00 for the gun permit. I would check it out. In any case you are going to have a great hunt with Wayne. If you can, try and get Carlos as your guide. GOOD LUCK If you want send me a pm. DESERTSHEEP

    New Hunting Opportunity in Mexico!

Blaserman, If I'm reading your post right your only paying $ 2,750 to hunt with El Halcon. Ihunted with them in 03 and I know they were more money than that. Desertsheep

    GREAT DAY

Jack, Had a awesome time on the Kiabab saw some monster muleys, Koons and his hunter killed a buck that gross scores 200 4/8. Me and my hunter would go to the same little hole every day and check does. We had a buck that would score about 170 everyday at less than 300 yards. My hunter wanted to hold out for something better. I had to leave on Thursday night so me and Koons could go set our sheep camp. I heard today that my hunter stayed 3 extra days and it paid off with a buck that scores 201. Leaving on Wenesday to hunt for DESERTSHEEP.

    MUZZY SUCCESS

Thanks everyone for the congrats. Sorry it took so long to respond back. Right after my hunt I left to scout for sheep for our desertsheep hunter, that starts in Dec. This past FRi- Sun I was in Mexico scouting our ranch for Jan coues hunters. The buck I shot was taken at a distance of 238 yards, thats right 238 yards with my knight muzzle loader. After finding out I drew this tag I put a lot of time in finding the right load & spending lots of time shooting. I knew from alot of past hunts that it wasnt going to be easy with a muzzleloader, most of you know how hard it is to get close with a rifle. I found a buck at 8.30 already beaded. I was watching him when my buck got up & joined the buck that I had found first. There happened to three bucks in all with mine being the best. I stalked in to get as close as I could. The bucks got up and started to travel. I had the buck at 155 yards but the my muzzle loader miss fired. It took me another couple hours to stalk back to 92 yards. Then only to have a coyote blow them out in to a little canyon where I took off running to catch up as they came up the other side. Hit them with my range finder and took the shot. Had a great time with my hunting partner who has taught me alot about coues and glasssing. It helps that he has been hunting coues for about 20 years longer than I have. Sorrry the story so short but I have to get packed, have to leave for the kaibab tomorrow to guide a mule deer hunter this weeekend. Hope all you coues hunter get a chance at a buck of your dreams.
