  1. I have a pop up blind for sale. It's Real Tree and was originally $100. This blind is yours for $60. No tears, scratches and it has all the shoot through mesh intact. It's never been hunted out of. Comes with backpack carrying case and fits 2 people. Weights just over 5lbs and its a great blind for you or as a gift. Let me know if you want it....with archery season just a few weeks away don't spend hundreds on a blind when this one is calling your name haha! Thanks for looking! Sorry for some of the sideways pics. Phone is still giving me issues.

  2. My comments will mirror all the others. Use it! My ‘’only’’ hunting rifle is a Winchester 30-06 than just loves 150grn bullets. Cor-loc’s, PP or home rolled. It will shoot m.o.a or better as long as it is nothing heavier than 150’s. My longest shot was at a quartering away mulie at 406 yards. I have had the ok to buy another rifle from the boss but there is nothing my walmart bought Winchester cannot do so…… I have no plans on messing with her. I get an itch every so often when I see everyones rifles all dressed up fresh from ‘the smith’ but I am afraid I will lose what this rifle still does fresh from the box some 15 years ago.

    Well said....if it ain't broke...don't fix it.

  3. It's all about water and shelter in that region. Lots of great spots with some shooters but just find good consistent water sources and start there. You'll see them and then the draws they hit to travel and then you'll see the places they bed. There are some rugged nasty places with a few trophys that hang out till dark. Good luck

  4. I am ready to the point where my wife says I have a problem! She wants to know if there is a support group for hunters wives during hunting season. Lol

BC, speaking from experience, if you are determined and do not give in eventually she will accept your passion. STAY STRONG!!

My sis lives in northern Utah. She says that the first week of archery season is known as "widows week." Guess a lot if places has ladies nights and discounts for eating out. Wish there was stuff like that here for my lady. She knows the only thing sleeping her that week is her 9mm lol

  5. On any of these subjects you'll get 2 pages of replies full of opinions. Every big game animal I have killed (except turkey) has been with a 30-06, this includes 6 coues. (I don't shoot over 500yards though)

It's a great caliber, the Remington 700 is a great gun as well. As mentioned previously 150gr is a fantastic bullet for coues. 165 is okay but can be a little over kill for coues. A 150gr is like a sledge hammer to them under 500 yards.

30-06 is not a hard round to find either and most of those whom I hunt with use it so I am never without rounds. The versatility of that rifle is great on the big and small sized shooters, not a ton of recoil.

In spite of all that....if you are not familiar with the gun and have not practiced with it then its no better than any other gun in your closet Spend the time with it and you will love it just as much as any other. I just like the wide variety of grains in bullets that I can shoot in one magazine.

  6. The only hunts I have screwed up (to my knowledge) are my own. Having said that, if I messed someones up I would graciously apologize and hope the other hunter would be understanding. Its everyone's forest...gotta share it and be respectful.

However I do remember an instance deer hunting on the rim when a man (who was fairly rude) and his little kid screwed up a stalk for my ol' man. I was a teenager at the time and remember asking my dad why he didn't say much. He said that he didn't want to ruin the experience for the little boy and when I had a kid I would understand. It was actually a pretty good lesson...didn't give my old man the credit he deserved at the time.

  7. firstcoueswas80 hit the nail on the head. Just back off the powder and they are just as effective.

The magnum primers will cause higher pressure because there are more gas/flames igniting the powder. If you try it, you should reduce your load... I have some non-magnum primers you can have... A couple hundred.

If no one picks up those primers I will gladly take them off your hands!

  8. You guys got it- Smack dab in the center. Its head is down feeding. Just a little doe. There is a second deer however I really don't know where it went even in the pic haha.

Thanks for fixing the picture...one day I will learn how to use my phone

  9. Okay so this one is not that hard. I had the family with me and saw some deer. At 40 yards it really surprised my wife how well they blend with their surroundings. Sorry the pic is sideways...can't figure out how to turn it around.

Scroll Down to see the picture correctly.....thanks for fixing it!

  10. AZ game and fish has great information. Scout the high superstition wilderness area. If she is willing to hike in and camp on foot you can bag a monster. The farther away you go from everyone the bigger they get...its just a long way in and a long way out on foot but with some good snow fall they will hang in the lower areas.

Good luck to you and your wife.
