    TRAIL CAM BAN UPDATE 3/17/21

    D. This Section does not apply to any activity allowed under A.R.S. § 17-302, to a person acting within the scope of their official duties as an employee of the state or United States, or as authorized by the Department. This also applies to baiting and the flying rule.

    TRAIL CAM BAN UPDATE 3/17/21

If the cameras placed on the drinker were part of the employee's job and they looked at the pictures they can legally hunt.

    Trail Cam Conundrum

Pretty sure baiting is still illegal even on private property, camera use will be no different.

Antis at it again. Lions and Bears.

It seems you have plenty of time to be on this website, takes the same amount of time to send a quick comment to the AZGFD about the hunt guidelines.

I don't think you'll find in the AZ constitution the "right to hunt".

    TRAIL CAM BAN UPDATE 3/17/21

It's 48 hours of any season going on, so if you have an archery elk tag but there is an archery deer hunt going you cant fly 48 hours before the archery deer hunt

    TRAIL CAM BAN UPDATE 3/17/21

That’s exactly right just make dang sure they can’t tie any of them to their definition of “take” which is a very broad definition.

    TRAIL CAM BAN UPDATE 3/17/21

Just save that money for a good defense lawyer, man up and test the AZGFD rule by putting out cameras and then tell them they were for “bird surveys” and see how it goes. If you win you’re golden if you lose you’re out some money and your hunting, fishing and guiding privileges for a few years.

    TRAIL CAM BAN UPDATE 3/17/21

Use of Aircraft to Take Wildlife A. A person shall not take or assist in taking wildlife from or with the aid of aircraft, including drones. B. Except in hunt units with Commission-ordered special seasons under R12-4-115 and R12-4-120 and hunt units with seasons only for mountain lion and no other concurrent big game season, a person shall not locate or assist in locating wildlife from or with the aid of an aircraft, including drones, in a hunt unit with an open big game season. This restriction begins 48 hours before the opening of a big game season in a hunt unit and ex-tends until the close of the big game season for that hunt unit. C. A person who possesses a special big game license tag for a special season under R12-4-115 or R12-4-120 or a person who assists or will assist such a licensee shall not use an aircraft, including drones, to locate wildlife beginning 48 hours before and during a Commission-ordered special season. D. This Section does not apply to any person acting within the scope of official duties as an employee or authorized agent of the state or the United States to manage or protect or aid in the management or protection of land, water, wildlife, livestock, domesticated animals, human life, or crops. E. For the purposes of this Section, “locate” means any act or activity that does not take or harass wildlife and is directed at locating or finding wildlife in a hunt area. Stay Legal - Commission Rules 2021-2022 ARIZONA HUNTING REGULATIONS 10 I believe section D should answer your questions. It will be exactly the same for trail cams and it is exactly the same for baiting.

    It's in the works now.

The only way mandatory reporting is any more accurate then the way they do it now is if you have to physically check in the animal. Does the department still send out a survey card to bear, lion and sheep hunters? If so I wonder how well the data lines up since those hunts are mandatory reporting. I’m sure the department has a pretty good pile of data on the Kaibab hunts, some are mandatory reporting and others aren’t.

Even bears have a total female harvest, so it’s possible the whole female quota can be met in the first season, same could hold true for deer.

Take 4 Trout during Closed Season. Possess 4 Unlawfully taken Trout. This was a revocable offense.

Maybe that was the standard punishment for that infraction? It seems the AZGFD commission makes it a point that guides will and should be held to a higher standard. Maybe Steve's lawyer did some investigating and found out that every other guide found guilty of the same infraction got a 5 year ban so he figured what the heck lets attack the WM that supposedly had it out for Steve and see how that goes for us.

Seems like that’s life in general, how many people are shot every day and yet all the headlines were focused on Alex Baldwin. If you’re going to be Instagram famous you better believe when you screw up it’s going to be news. As for who gives(AF) I guess the answer to that is the AZGFD and the commission must have.

Fact is he pled guilty and paid a fine. He said he has since hired a secretary to make sure this doesn’t ever happen again. His business must really being doing so well that you accidentally forget to report taking $70,000 plus worth of clients on an elk hunt in 5B that you weren’t properly permitted to be on the Coconino Forest.
