My main objective was to glass and scout for the archery deer at the end of the month but I picked up the bear tag just in case and now it's my main objective lol.

What is the number to call before going out to see if female harvest objective was met? The only number I see is the number you call if you do harvest a bear.

I'm hunting 34b w my dad in late October. I spooked deer on a javelina hunt in the experimental range but I'm pretty sure they were Mulees. I have a WT tag. Should be interesting n fun because I don't know the area.

I just bought my Summit Viper in June and this will be my first season hunting out of my own tree stand. I did a ton of research and I just kept reading about how comfortable it was. I was on the fence between the viper and the open shot which is a spec lighter but went with the viper because of the rail which you can sit on when climbing and you can use a rifle rest. Ive always been a rifle hunter and I just picked up bow hunting a little over a year ago which is why i wanted a treestand. I prefer to bow hunt and as I've been practicing it hasn't hit any of my limbs at full draw. Dog gammit I can't wait for end of August!!! Good luck to all. Btw- climbing on it is a breeze.

Bag limit is one deer per calendar year. You don't have to turn the tag in or anything, you just can't use it. Good luck and enjoy the time with your old man. Mine quit hunting about 3 years ago and its been hard for me to come to terms with. I feel for you especially because my dad gave me the 'you want to hunt these remote areas I can't get to anymore speech' and 'Im lucky if I can hunt another 2to 3 years'. That really hit home because it hasn't been until the last 5 years that him and I have gotten to hunt together (father son bullshit). I wish I could have those years back like no other, we are so alike and stubborn and has caused the friction in our relationship. My son just turned 6 and I just hope he's around so the 3 of us can hunt together at least once, hopefully javelina in the spring for little guy.

3rd choice but im hunting w my pops, cant beat that. Late October 34a WT for me. Not too familiar w unit but I saw a bunch of deer during my javee spring hunt so here we go!!! Question I have is for the OTC archery deer, can I bag two or if I get one during the OTC archery do I have to relinquish my tag? Anyone know the bag limit?

Dude I loved the story, congrats! Were you in a tree stand? Blind? I woulda shoot my pants at 13 yards if I wasn't in a stand. Biggest kudos goes to the fact that no matter how much of an adrenaline rush you had, you still steadied the bow and made a great shot!

23s is closed. I've gone out to 23s and 24a w an OTC tag in the pinal mountains just to familiarize myself with terrain, area and activity for Bs in the Ps to plan out my hunt for the summer/fall time. I did not see any Bear sign. As goes the story though, I saw everything other than what I was looking for, whitetail and Mule deer, snakes (garden, bull?), and tracks and droppings that belong to either a bobcat or mtn lion. I tried to attach pics but they are slightly to big so ill see if I can figure it out. The pics show me venturing into some pretty deep and remote caves and let me just say that I need to get in better shape. Any suggestions on how to make pics smaller?

Well I can't go this weekend so Imy friend and I are planning on going Monday am and glassing all day in 23s. Anyone want to tag along? or we'd be open to keeping someone company on their scouting and meeting a fellow sportsman. Six eyes is better than two as they say.

That's one of the most surreal hunts I've ever watched. Wow! If it wasn't a cub they'd a been screwed.

Bears are incahoots w az game and fish it appears haha. Anyway, I was in 23s over near Valentine ridge campground a month ago and saw plenty of gobblers. I had to yield once in my truck and once on my quad for them to cross the road for what it worth.

I'm planning on scouting 23 as well this weekend. We're u in 23n or 23s?

Ive read that they are up in the strip area but has anyone seen them in Arizona?
