    my 5x5 opening day buck

    Great buck man! Congrats!
  8. I'm always trying out new gear to find out what I like best. Recently I've been eyeing the Outdoorsman Optics pack. Right now I run a Kuiu Icon Pro pack with the 1850 pack and I really like it. I'm trying to see if the outdoorsman pack would be a good fit for me and the way I hunt. I don't backpack hunt. I set up camp and take out a pack with me with everything I need to stay out all day. Here is what I usually have on me in my day pack... Kuiu 1850 Icon Pro Pack: 3L camelbak bladder 15x binos tripod Food & snacks Micro stove w/ small fuel can & lighter knife w/extra blades flashlight/headlamp First aid kit Extra ammo GPS Light Jacket TP Extra mags for side arm 10x Binos & Range finder in Bino Harness (I know I'm missing something!) The 1850 does good with holding all the stuff I need for the day, but I've heard nothing but good things about the optics pack and wanted to see how the two compare? I know empty weight of both are pretty big difference. Any members here have both that they could give me their pros/cons on both? Any input is appreciated...

Kuiu Icon Pro vs. Outdoorsman Optics Pack

I've heard some people mention flex on the outdoorsman frame. Anybody have any problems with it?

Kuiu Icon Pro vs. Outdoorsman Optics Pack

Yeah no more spotter for me. Just some 15x and my 10x in my harness.

Kuiu Icon Pro vs. Outdoorsman Optics Pack

Thanks for all the input everyone. I used to run a 2200 badlands but went down to a 1850. Like others above have mentioned, I believe a 3200 bag may be the perfect one, but the 1850 is just simple for everyday use.

Thinking about a new bow string

Do you know what string builder they use? My bow is in need of new strings and was thinking about taking it to BB here in Tucson, rather than order some online.

    36A archeryhunt

The December archery hunt is over the counter, so I'm not sure how many tags are actually sold every year. Being one of the 36 units I would say there is still some good numbers of mulies out there. Every year seems like there is always a few monsters being pulled out of the southern units, both WT and mulies. Lots of deer down there with some big ones here and there hiding really good.
  22. Wow! All great looking bucks! Congrats to all of you!

    Bino Cases

If you are interested in more than the 2 you listed.... To date I've used: 1. Standard Bino harness straps from Sportsmans Warehouse 2. S4 X-Lockdown Bino Harness 3. AGC KISS model Bino Harness 4. Kuiu Bino Harness 5. FHF Bino Harness - AGC KISS was the mallest/compact model they offered. I bought it and liked it. Very well made and had enough room for piranta knife, and small head lamp in bottom Max pocket. I keep my windicator in small mesh pocket on side. I liked it because it had the full coverage around the binos with the lid on. Only thing that bothered me was the shoulder strap would ride up onto my neck every once in a while and irritate my neck. -FHF harness I liked how it fit and can tell its well made. Only part I didn't like on it was the bino tether straps on it. Compared to the AGC bino tether straps they feel a bit plasticy, The AGC tether were a nice nylon material. These on the FHF feel more like some type of ribbon? One thing I was worried about with the FHF is the lid/cover. It leaves the sides of the bino eyecups exposed on each side. I like to keep my glass as clean as possible so more dust/dirt got into this harness than the other too. Nothing crazy but noticeable between this one and the other too. - Kuiu harness was very nice. I liked the simplicity of it and the material is nice. The shoulder straps are very comfortable on this one and they stay in place on my shoulders and don't ride up. This one has similar protection of the binos like the AGC. Even though the only exposed part of the binos is facing your chest. So dust can still get in but not much as the FHF. I like to try out all options to see which one I like best.
