Great scopes but the nightforce is much better for long range shooting/hunting. If I were you I would check out the NP-R1 reticle and the MOAR reticle over the 1000yard reticle. I've shot all 3 I own a NP-R1 and love it but would have got the MOAR reticle if it would have been available when I got my scope. The 1000yard reticle works well but I prefer the others. Great scopes good luck on the sell TTT

Not sure with mule deer . The freshest sheds I've ever found have been last week of February first week of March. Elk I have always found 2nd week in March is when they start dropping like crazy.

They are great heads! I killed my biggest bull elk with the muzzy. Broke 2 ribs on entry and 2 on exit. Full pass through bull died 40 yards away.

CWpredator replied to PackerMenges's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Patrick holehan! He is a little pricy but it comes Down to you get what you pay for. Buy once cry once. He is the nicest guy and will deal with you at your convenience. He's had auction rifles built for Dallas Safari Club that have gone for 6 figures plus! His custom built rifles for any application are 2nd to none and you will seriously Be beyond happy with his work. By far the best gunsmith in AZ. You can't go wrong with him! -

Where can I find bulk .223 bullets?
CWpredator replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Glad I got my Seekins Precision lower when I did last October. 235$ brand new. I've now seen them going for upwards of 550$... Absolutely insane to pay prices like that for stripped lower or any AR15 stuff right now... Soon everyone's going to have 5000$ AR15s that just 6 months ago would of went for under a grand.. -
Wish I had the money right now. I'm very interested. I was looking for one in a 26 but a 30 would be the ticket.

I hit a big muly buck in that no mans land in December. Found both pieces of my arrow full of blood where it had stuck in him. I even clipped the top of a lung because we found where he had coughed it up. I searched all over for that buck for days and no luck. I then saw him about a week later and could see where I hit him. To say the least he was fine back in the same area chasing his doe around once again.in my experience that type of hit the Animal will usually survive and be fine. Good luck hope you find your deer!

Mule deer, 2 pigs, and a lion all in 2 weeks with stick and string
CWpredator replied to bowhuntaz1's topic in Other Big Game
Definitely a trip for the books!!! Congrats to one heck of a season! -
The white stripe is too far forward. Ideal shot is the crease of the shoulder 1/3 the way up the body from the brisket. Granted pigs take a hit like no other. I've pinwheed pigs before and lost them and I've hit them bad before and found them. Javelina are some seriously tough SOBs! Good luck and wack one of them stinky critters!

I know it's a smokin deal to offer but here it goes... Would you take an IOU?

Hahaha muleskinner you couldn't have said it any better. Stupidity and ignorance is contagious. "It can be contracted by repeated contact with democrats and other liberals!!"

azoutlaw I sill have no faith in the points pool. 2007 my dad drew a 5Bn bull early archery tag with 2 points. 2009 he drew a early archery 10 bull tag. 2011 drew a 5Bn early archery bull tag again 2nd choice. After all the random people that draw with no points... Lets be real for Good units like 5Bn, 5Bs, 9, 10, 27, 1 regardless playing odds... After 16,17,18,19,20,21,22 points you're simply due for a tag. I don't think the points play a roll at all. SIMPLY LUCK OF THE DRAW...
-
The bonus points are BS people. I went 9 years with out an archery bull tag... (10th year)First year I put in with my buddy and first time hunter we got drawn for bull elk tags. Next year we put in separate and I blank... He gets drawn for another bull tag... The year after he pulls yet another bull tag... I don't believe in bonus points and if I could sell them to anyone who wants them I would... It's a lottery and you either win or lose... All the bonus points are there for IMHO is a feel good. Make you feel better about how few times you will be drawn...

Spot and stalk definitely the hardest way... I thought I had one In the bag today when I glassed up a solid 105 buck, bedded him down, and he was all alone. I spent 3 hours sneaking way up and around to get the wind right coming down the hill on top of him. I got within 58 yards of him and ran out of cover so I knelt down behind a manzanita with a clear lane to shoot. I sat there for another 3 hours waiting for him to stand. When he finally got up I thought I had him dead to rights but he blew out of there with no warning. I couldn't figure for the life of me why... About 10 minutes later here comes 4 coyotes right through where he was laying. Long story short with spot and stalk coues hunts. Expect the unexpected. Even when everything is going perfect many things can go wrong that are far out of your control. My best advice is stay after them and be persistent. One of these days it will work out for you. Best of luck!

Yesterday was a very slow day deer hunting for me and my partner. We started the morning off with only finding 3 deer by 11:00am. No bucks anywhere so we packed up our gear and hiked back to the truck. We ended up driving about an hour away to a spot where I had been seeing good bucks the prior week. We end up getting there and hike to my glassing spot. We set up and glass for 2 hours without seeing any deer. I was starting to get pretty discouraged. About 430 rolls around and I finally glass up 1 solo doe. Then about 10 minutes later I glass up a nice big bobcat walking a ridge about 700 yards away. I decide to go after the bobcat since we are not seeing any deer movement at all. I close the gap to about 200 yards then relocate the cat. So I keep moving in. I end up getting to 46 yards from it and it spots me. So I stop and have a staring contest with it for about 5 minutes. I wait until it looks the other way and draw my bow. I let the arrow fly. Perfect double lung shot and the bobcat runs and crashes about 25 yards away. This is my first bobcat with a bow and to do it spot and stalk to say the least I was extremely excited.
