BuffHunter killed his bull last year with no problem. Ask him about them he loves them.

I Had an awesome day hunting! I was fortunate enough to get a shot on this fantastic desert mule deer today and the arrow found its mark. As a bonus to the whole thing my best buddy Deason Brooks got to watch the whole show go down. I also had a little history with this buck as I missed him in January of 2013. We turned him back up last weekend and had a close encounter with him last Friday at 20 yards but couldn't pull off the shot. This time he was not so lucky! Deer for 2015 is in the books. He scores 176 5/8ths

Friday bump. I will be in the phoenix/Glendale area today if anyone would like to check out the binoculars. Any questions 520-425-6007

No I'm selling them to get the new Leica geovid 15x56 HD-R. I need a long range rangefinder so I figured I'd just get 15s and rangefinder all in one.

No sorry I don't want to separate since I don't have the old adapter or stud for them.

2014 Coues Deer Kill Distances Poll
CWpredator replied to Little Creek Calls's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
From September of 2014-January of 2015 I took a 350" bull elk at 35 yards and 7 deer. 5 of the deer were in Illinois and the people back there though i was crazy considering I killed all the deer between 30-70 yards with my bow. Most of them have never shot a deer over 20 yards. It's just how they hunt. I am a western hunter and have learned to extend my ranges to be more successful. I killed my 107" December Coues at only 346 yards. Would I have liked to be closer yes. Would have I taken the shot at that buck at 900 or a 1000 yards pending conditions were okay... Yes. I killed a 176" mule deer in January with my bow at 37 yards. I turned the same deer down a week before at 18 yards because the shot wasn't right. I kill more animals at close range than far but that doesn't mean I am not adequate at extended range. I practice for that and feel I'm ready to make what ever shot is presented. If I don't feel comfortable in the shot I won't take it. The ethics police are always going to have their opinion on long range hunting gun or bow but I say more power to you if you are proficient at the weapon, distances, and methods practiced. Only the trigger man can make the call weather to shoot or not and only they can judge their own decision to pull the trigger right, wrong, or indeferent. -
2014 Coues Deer Kill Distances Poll
CWpredator replied to Little Creek Calls's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Seldom drawn don't start trying to compare kills... Distances or numbers... If you choose to not play the long range game; great! That's your call. But the guys that can do it let them have it. They are skilled marksman. Just because you feel animals should be killed with a knife by hand and 3 inches away doesn't mean the guy that can kill a deer with his rifle at 900 yards or the guy with his bow that shoots antelope at 120 yards are wrong. Just means they got their shoot together.your ethics don't make you right or wrong they just make you hunt how you hunt and you have zero effect on the next guy. -
2014 Coues Deer Kill Distances Poll
CWpredator replied to Little Creek Calls's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Love the negative long range comments already.... Rifle or bow. If you can't make the shot don't take it... Im not sorry that I feel completely comfortable taking a 100 yard shot with my bow or a 1000yard shot with my 338. lapua. Doesn't mean I always take the longest shot I can but sure as heck if that's my only opportunity I'll take it. "Don't condem the people that can do because you can't"...- 55 replies

Hope this doesn't derail the thread but what is the cost to apply for NR elk in Wyoming? I'd like to start building points for a quality archery hunt.

Jewell... Nothing quite compares.

Just curious if I have a chance... Resident 2 applicants 2 bonus points. Unit 1 early archery first choice (I know no chance in heck)2nd choice 5bn November archery. Hoping we have a chance at that tag.

Had the fortune of drawing a unit 9 tag this year. Never had been in the unit untill my scouting trips prior to the season. During the scouting trips I located 2 really big bulls. I had high hopes of killing a giant come the season. Got up to my camp 2 days prior to season and found a lot of elk but nothing in the caliber of what I was looking for. The first 3 days of the hunt I passed on 8 bulls under 40 yards but the quality of bugeling and activity time started to deteriorate quickly. I was fortunate enought to harvest this bull on the 3rd evening of the hunt. I knew he wouldn't score great but the character of him being a roll back with long beams great mass and extremely wide I couldn't let him walk when he presented me with a broadside 35yd shot. I figure not to bad for a guy hunting solo in brand new country I'd never been in before. Great way to start the year off and the freezer is full!

Those are not the BGA *T model. If they were it would say on the bridge and focus nob. Big difference in the BGA*T and the regular *T model

Well since spot and stalk archery hunting is to successful of a method we should request a ban on that as well... Tree stand only from now on while archery hunting. I'd love to see a bunch of bowhunters 4 feet off the ground setup in paloverde and mesquite trees...

I don't think the real problem is the archery deer hunters success one bit. The real problem is the extra early rifle hunts they added a few years back and the extreme over saturation of rifle tags. Everyone is now starting to see this catch up with the deer and becoming harder and harder to find a quality buck. This causing a lot more guys to now go deeper and further in country they never did before. All around its been a vicious cycle to the deer quality. As far as the archery success I don't know how much more can be taken away from archery hunters considering the disadvantage they are already at. It's Just starting to get a bit ridiculous that "the problem is archery hunters are to successful"..... Just read the hunt success numbers in the regs. Almost every rifle hunt no matter the quality is going to have a much higher success rate than the archery hunters.

My buddy took the pics of him with his Cannon EOS Rebel T5i with a 300mm lense while I was stalking the buck the multiple times I was on him! The live photos and all the history with this buck definitely made it all the much sweeter.

fixed blade or mechanical broad heads ?!?
CWpredator replied to jgraffaz's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
From September till this January I've shot 5 deer (4 out of state) and a bull elk all with slick trick 100gn standards. Haven't had to trail any of these animals more than 50 yards. Little 4 blade head sure does some damage and puts a nasty big hole. -
Definitely a tank of a body. No idea on weight exactly but I shot a deer in illinois in November that was 200lbs and he was very close to the same body size.

This is the the version of it. Sorry I don't have the real pics of it up yet.
