    THIEFS unit 39

I've been working a water hole to get a mnt lion this last Sunday I set up my blind near my cam that's been there for a month now. I went today to get picture updates and all gone. This is pathetic and un-manlike they are cowards nothing but pathetic piece of s*%# it was about 3 miles south of 187th ave and Riggs rd I think these a**holes are driving a white silverado 1500 with a camper now the only reason I assume this is because I got to the water hole once and they were there. If anyone comes across a doghouse ground blind and a wild game innovations trail please pm me i got a hold of g&f and gave all the details I could let's get these low life worth for nothing SCUM bags
  2. Im over by the 260 and Young Hwy and brought a bear tag w me as well (just in case). I've seen 5 Muley does but no bucks this evening but I just got here so that is a good sign. I thought for a second I might be doing a quick turnaround to no avail because the only thing sticking out we're their big ole ears. If anyone has an Elk tag I would be happy to assist. I've seen 2 Cows and a really nice Buck. I didn't count the points but he had a really nice rack on em. Good luck if you're hunting and congrats if you tagged out. Hopefully I'll be one of those tomorrow.
  3. big one following 3 minutes behind. Do you think it's a mom and older cub? or Boar following sow? any thoughts on how big this bull and buck are going to be based on the date taken?
  4. A nice rifle I bought new back in the 70's. Killed an elk with it in 1978, but haven't used it much since, as a mag is really not needed in Missouri for deer. It has Sako scope rings, but no scope. Could send pictures if you email me at dball534 at charter.net. I'd say the condition is excellent. Asking $995.

    Bragging Rights!

I am designing 5 shirts (the first round) and am doing a "Bragging Rights Contest" to find some of the best pictures of Monster Bucks, Huge Elks, Colossal Boars or any other trophy game that’s worth its weight in Bragging Rights to create the shirts, and wanted to ask if any one reading this would like to submit a photo for consideration. If you are selected as one of the 5 “Bragging Rights” winners, a likeness of the game you submit will be reincarnated in its natural surroundings and reproduced on a shirt for others to see and enjoy around the world. To find out more information you can go to the picture submit form at: http://www.muzzlelife.com/webcon/bragging-rights-contest/ Thank you for your consideration, James www.MuzzleLife.com

    Daughter's First Deer Hunt

This year was my 10 year old daughter’s first deer hunt. We picked up a leftover tag in November for her. This is what she had to say about the hunt. My First Deer Hunt My first deer hunt was near the Mexican border. Me, Marcos, Matt, and Josh all had tags for White-tailed deer. We came in late on Thursday so we set up camp and took off in our two Rangers and checked out the area we’d be hunting in. Friday morning we set out on our Rangers until we parked in a small clearing next to the road. Then we climbed a tall ridge and glassed from there. When we got to the top we got blasted by a very strong wind. We had glassed for about a half hour until we spotted a group of three deer. Since me and Marcos were the youngest Matt and Josh let us have the first try at the group. So me, my dad, and Marcos had to circle back to the road and drive closer to the deer. We had to hike a couple of ridges to come in full sight of the deer. I was shooting a 308 win. I believe Marcos was shooting a 7mm mag. When we got to a point close enough for me to shoot we stopped and waited for the deer to get in the right position. When I finally shot the gun at 260 yards (a gun I’ve never shot before) there was a big silence. I gave Marcos the bigger one because I already owed him for grabbing me when I almost fell down a tall hill into a pile of cacti. Sure he grabbed me a couple other times but that one would’ve hurt the most. We were supposed to have shot one after the other real fast but Marcos lost the big buck for a second. But then he found it and shot it. We had both shot our deer and killed them but mine was the best hit-and-kill shot. So my dad and Marcos dragged our deer down to a place where we could gut our deer. It was the most disgusting thing I ever saw and heard. For me, she had a few other excuses for not shooting the bigger buck, but all that matters is that she was happy. RIGHT. The next day she did ask or wish she had another tag to keep hunting. I'm very proud and she do alot of shooting with her 22. We borrowed a 243 that she shot before the hunt, but she wanted to use her moms rifle.
  7. I was blessed today to be able to harvest my first deer with a bow, the shot was 90 yards !!! Saw him sitting in a thicket with my Vortex 15x56 Kaibabs. A special thanks to Bruce Noble and crew on being with me and helping out. Bruce called them back after they got out of range,Thanks to Boomer Salgado for setting me up with my PSE Bow Madness !!! I was able to get complete pass through !!! Complete pass through at 90 yards. Go see him at PSE !!! Thanks
  8. Long time veiwer first time poster....Well it was a very tough hunt. This unit in the late hunt is pretty much bumping into them or glassing sycamore canyon with a million other people. Since we were'nt trophy hunting we stayed up high and hit several places where I chased them for the archery bull hunt. Well after making the boy hike about 20 miles in 3 days he got tired. So we went and grabbed the ranger and decided to go glass sycamore for a biggin when out of nowhere this fella decided to peek his head out. Junior yells dad bull, I slam on the ranger brakes and he jumped out and grabbed the 30-06 and i grabbed the bipod. We ran about 30 yds to a fence and there he was. His head and neck were the only thing showing, i'm thinking dang he's gonna run, out of no where junior lets it rip and hits the elk right in the neck and this thing dropped like a brick...small spike thats gonna taste great. the boy is doing good, cow elk at 10, 3 pt deer at 11 now is first bull at 12. Now he wants to archery hunt after experiencing a rut hunt with me where the boys are everywhere...
  9. This was a big bodied bull, and a great archery harvest for a father and son hunt. Congrats to the Gibsons! 14yr old girls buck, she passed up bigger ones because she had seen this one, and he was still in full velvet in October. Young Matsons First Deer....... Gotta love the youth hunters, their enthusiasm is contagious!

    Can't wait

The night pics are from last year and the day ones are from this year. Pretty sure it's the same buck. A 4x3 last year, a 5x4 this year. Do you guys think it could be the same one. An extra tine/shooter on each side? It's in the same spot. Can't wait for Friday to come!!

    Early 2012 TC pics

For April this guy isn't bad.... How many lick does it take....... No bucks but the herd looks good. And finally the bears......2 for sure but maybe 3 different bears what do you think?
  12. Heres the culprit! This bear found my deer before I could get it out. I left to pack the first load out and when I returned I found him having dinner. So I did the smart thing and..... I stalked within 15 yards while he was eating. Hearing him snap the ribs as he would break them off sounded like a 22 shot. Then hearing him chew the bones.... oh man! I had a archery tag but guess what i packed out in the first load? Yep. My bow. Love the color. Looks like he has socks on the front paws. I hope we meet again in Sept.
