I need to take an out-of-towner on a quick snow view/play trip tomorrow. I know the high country got anywhere from a dusting to a few inches over the past 12-24 hours, so thinking the timing should be good. That being said, I live in south Scottsdale/Old Town area, so a quick run up to Payson/Forest Lakes/Rim/Strawberry would be MUCH easier and preferred over the run up I-17 to Flagstaff. Can anyone provide a quick report on the rim around Payson? Enough there for viewing and a little play? Don't even need enough to sled. Just horse around a little..... Info greatly appreciated!!! S. PS: For the record, I would MUCH prefer to head to the desert and chaise Gambels, but oh well.....

Saw you heading north on 87, about 35 miles south of Payson. Had a white coueswhitetail sticker on your rear camper shell window. Was about 4:50, I was in the Sonoma you drove past. Not sure on the color of truck, didn't see the sticker till you were 30 yards in front of me.

Best place to hunt in Unit 22 or 23? Give suggestions.
Rifle2Bow posted a topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
My dad and I have been going hunting for as long as I can remember, TX, NM, CO. This is our first time with a bow and the first time in AZ and I keep reading that 22 and 23 are some of the better places. We are thirsting for some deer and as soon as we found out about over the counter archery starting this week we were really excited (remember we're rifle hunters) . Please give me some feedback as I will probably go out this weekend and sight with a return trip the following weekend with my dad.
