    Goulds in 31

After gathering 17 bonus points, I drew this tag! I have never been there but I was extremely tired of waiting. It is crazy to me that even with 17 points, I could only draw the second hunt. There are only 3 tags on each hunt, so it was tough to get drawn but I am so glad I did. This was the only tag I was certain to draw by the numbers. I am an avid spring hunter, 15 years on San Carlos and several hunts on public lands. I have harvested over 25 birds during spring hunts. If anyone has any information on the bird population, areas to hunt, and places to start, I would really appreciate and direction/guidance you may have to offer. I want to shoot this bird with my bow, but will not eat this tag. Very dedicated to achieving the Arizona Slam with my bow. I have heard that game and fish has trapped birds here, and some years the numbers are down. Any help would be great.

    Rio Grande Finished

Just picked up my daughter Jaycie's Rio Grande from last year. Sven did a great job on it, the exact pose we asked for. One more to have completed and her Royal Slam will all be mounted. (sorry the lighting was horrible when I snapped the pictures)
  4. Turkey Hunters - Save 15% Now through May 25th 2017 HEALY has all in-stock Turkey Ammunition and Shotgun Chokes reduced 15% at the register. All participating manufacturer rebates STILL apply. Need a shotgun? We have that too. Youth models, pumps, semi autos, single shots - we've got a good selection. Don't see what you're looking for - just ask - we'll always try to get you exactly what you want.

Work of Art, Osceola is headed home.

My daughter, Jaycie's Osceola is headed home from Florida. Mike Mizelle owner of Blackwing Turkeys absolutely nailed this for us. We showed him the video of the hunt and asked if he could mount him just like he came in that morning. The bird never came to full strut so Mike mounted him in a 3/4 strut position and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Jaycie is only one away from the Royal Slam at 15 years old so this bird is pretty special. Get's me fired up for spring again.

Finally! My turkey jinx is over

I've lost count on how many years I've been chasing these birds. At least 5 tags and more years of listening to gobbles and at least one missed shot. It all came together this morning. Just like in the videos. You call, they answer. Then after watching 2 gobblers strutting 100 yds out for 1/2 hour they come over to check the decoys At 40 yds it was over, finally the monkey's off my back! Nice Tom, about 20# with a 10" beard. ] Sideways but not bad. 😀

    Old calls

So my dad passed away 11 years ago and I was thinking about his old elk call and I wondered if my mom still had it stored some where. I had the chance to look for it yesterday and found a box with these two elk calls and a varmint, quail and a wooden turkey call. I remember blowing on these things about 40 years ago and scratching on the turkey call. They are now going in my man cave and they bring back some great memories. Anyone recognize or remember these old calls?
