He does have a bow that’s a 70 lb bow, he wants to upgrade cuz he has an elk tag?

Or, he could have previously borrowed/tested bows, or already had a 60#. People don't have particular models of guns but know what they want, sometimes even without researching or test firing them. Why not a bow?

Sounds like he researched and did his homework to me.
