First fawn

Recommended Posts

Saw my first fawn of the year drop today out outer loop rd. Wish game and fish was doing helicopter kills on coyotes here instead of seligman.

I am curious and not picking fights or attacking anyone. Why aren't locals killing the coyotes?  Aren't regulations relaxed and night hunting allowed?  I am wondering why GF regulation and hunter participation hasn't solved the problem?

We kill a ton of them!!! Part of the problem is actually over calling in some of those areas.

separate note: total count of 11 fawns here in the neighborhood.

Its not the coyotes as much as the Californians pushing the antelope out. Growing up watching the greatest antelope herd in the country get pushed and relocated so people can move here and judge my lifestyle is sad.

Remember all those lopes on the big butte where the casino is now? there were probably a hundred of them in the early 80's on the side of that kill alone.

used to be a ton of lopes in chino valley on the east side of the freeway back then also. fun to drive those flats and shoot yotes back in the day. I dont think we ever made it to chino valley with out killing 3-4 yotes off the side of the highway on our way up to seligman to shoot p-dogs.

that and the breaks before precott valley lots of muleys used to run that river bottom and the breaks

Yeah prescott lakes had a nice herd across from watson lake. Till one of the first homeowners didnt like them and shot half the herd. 19b had a boatload of tags back in the day when the ranchers were more friendly.

Oh yeah I didnt know a home owner shot them that sucks.

I remember when someone shot all those lopes on sunset point back in the early 90's I think it was like 94?.

lopes are the coolest Animals around, always love seeing them when i'm out. I'm wondering how those herds south of the railroad tracks west of seligman are doing. last time I was there was when they started building house's there 2000's.
