Yes gizzard shad. No I don’t eat them but have seen them in Asian stores. Catfish bait. Saved up 20 or so but these are huge.

I saw the vacuum sealer and figured the worst! Haha sorry. I'm impressed you caught 2 that big hook and line.

It would be cool to troll them deep on some big anchovie hooks for the heck of it (looks like Pleasant for stripers).

Ya pleasant striper fishing. We pick up a few largemouth during the afternoon then switched over to stripers. Caught more cats than anything but managed a few tacos and some bait for next trip.

They said they brought in the Florida strian bass to eat them..

The bigger ones we shock at Talkalai are in the 1 to 2 lb range and 14" to 17".

I saw a herd of them at Rosy a few weeks ago along a bank and looked like baby sharks in the water. I would say all about 12-14" and just darting and doing circles all over the place.  Super erratic.
