Lee's Ferry

Recommended Posts

Conditions sucked but managed to catch one fish...biggest trout of my life so far! Fished the walk in.

Is it just me or does this fish look a bit like a cutthroat?

Hard to tell without seeing the underneath of it's jaws.    Rainbows and cuts often look very similar, depending on environment/conditions.  But if/when you see the bottom of a cutthroat's jaw, it is unmistakable, IMO.

No matter which species, that is one HEALTHY looking fish! ;)

Dang.. 1 fish at Lee's ferry?  Is the fishery hurting that bad?  We used to catch 20-50 a day

I'm sure the fishery is fine. 30 - 50 mph winds with blowing rain and sand more than half the day didn't help. Plus I suck.

You mean you caught one legal keeper?

I suppose we used to cheat every time we went there and used spinning reels.  Fly fishing, beer and 3 guys on a boat spells someone getting snagged.

I’ve been in a boat twice and honestly I could go the whole day just looking around and looking in the water, never make a cast and enjoy myself

but we killed it on San Juan worms in late November once

1 cent, You can catch 10 rainbows there and 2 will rarely look alike.

2 cent, The walk-in area alone does not do the Ferry justice.
