Been checked many times in the field including twice in the same day by the same warden in 27. He also checked ammo and took notes on the weapon. Felt like a police state.

I’ve never been checked hunting, guess I don’t spend a lot of daylight hours near the roads. Checked fishing a few times. Sister n law got nabbed at Riggs. Said she wouldn’t fish so had no license, took one or two casts with my wife’s rod and the officer met us at the truck a couple hours later. Cost her like $150 for two casts!

Only been checked once last five years but 50 years ago it was common for AZGFD to setup roadblocks in hunting hotspots regardless of sunlight.

I’d welcome that back in place of the honor system we have in place now but I guess G$F figures sportsman have become more honest in the last five decades!

I mean, I don't blame it on the individual wardens... they are just over worked and stretched beyond limits.

I get checked nearly every time I hunt 12a west and during spring turkey hunts along the rim.

WM's are definitely spread pretty thin. 1 WM covers all of 36B&C, 1 covers all 36A, 1 covers all 34A&B, 1 covers all 35A&B and I believe 33 has 2 1 North and 1 covers the South.
