Coach Report post Posted June 11 Hey guys, I'm going to Cabo in July for the first time and plan to book a charter boat. Mostly looking for Roosters and Mahi Mahi. Anyone have any suggestions, or places to avoid? Thanks!

Ed67 Report post Posted June 12 Several years back went a bout 60 miles north to a small town called Los Barriles and went with Los Barriles Sportfishing. At the time they had a couple super pangas and it was 300 for a full day, 3 of us. There are cruisers up there you can book with also. Yellowfin tuna should be ramping up right now. I'm sure several Cabo boats go fish the same area if on the Sea of Cortez side. Have fun, can’t wait to go back some day.
Siwash Report post Posted June 12 If you are fishing out of San Jose Del Cabo, we fish with Gordo Banks every year. Our next trip is in October. They fish the Cortez side and do a pretty good job with weekly fish reports if you wanna review the historic records from July over the last few years. PM if you want more info, I have a few captains I would recommend along with a fish processor. Last year I caught a 400# Black Marlin over Labor Day and I have lost track of how many Striped Marlin I have caught with their outfit. Whether it is in Los Cabos, SJD or Los Barilles, try to fish more than one day if your schedule and budget allow for it.
Coach Report post Posted June 13 Thanks guys. I'll be in cabo san lucas, just one fisherman, one ride along. The more research I do it looks like all inclusive, 8 hour trips run about 700-1200. El budster has come up a lot. We are probably going to need some shade mid-day so l'm thinking a 31-ish boat seems right
