My Avatar Buck at 114" is my personal best rifle coues. 20 inch main beams on both sides. We saw this buck about 15 times on the same hill side before opening day. Talk about habitual!!! Good luck to everyone finding their personal best this year!!!! Oh yeah!!! Not sure I'll ever top this one.

Wow Alot of fine lookin bucks guys and gals!!!.

My first and only Coues, this website and it's fine members sparked my interest greatly and is the main reason I put in for Whitetails in the first place.. I've taped him at 117 6/8 gross- 113 1/8 net. I used a Remi 30-06 with an old 9x32 simmons wich I had only put three rounds through at 50yds. 220yds downhill shooting though, missed the first shot, nailed him the second. It was the last morning of my hunt /a 7 day late oct. hunt, I actually heard him rakeing his rack on a overhanging limb and that's how i spotted him.It was a tuff hunt in a new unit to me, but i found the big buck hidey hole for the area on the fifth day and waited. My Dad heard my victory yell from a mile and a half. There was two more bucks with him but i didn't get a chance to judge them. I saw some nice antlers and shot within five seconds of knowing he was there. I was honestly feeling very down on myself that morning allready going through what I'd do better next time to be a better hunter. As well talking with god and asking him to please put one in front of me <img src="http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> . I had no clue of his size and freaked out when i found him. I thought i had missed both shots but he only went 20yds in the brush. I was looking around the wrong scrape. I looked up from where i'd shot from and decided the buck was actually 80 yds over from where I was lookin. Sure enough an allmost identicall tree and scrape with blood in it, followed it and there he was. Yes there was a moment......... that i'll not forget.

Absolutely Fantastic bucks in this Thread!!! Congrats to you all!!! ;)

Out of all the Big Bucks, I'd like to make a comment about Ward's boy's first buck... My hats off to you for getting your son involved at such a young age and for having him shoot such a perfect first deer! It is so easy as parents to let our pride push us to harvest bigger deer for our kids and it does not make them "hungry", IMO.... I am certain that, that young man is looking for a bigger one this year and will probably find it! Congrats to you and your son.... there is no more Proud moments than sharing it with your kids!! ;)

I, as a hunter, find myself the bridesmaid and not the bride....... although Ihave helped take some really big rifle coues.... my, personal, largest is a 92"er and I have only had two rifle coues tags my entire life.... :(

;) However, that gives me lots of time for bow hunting with my buddies and that is where my largest Coues came from. Clay scored him at 108 1/8 gross P&Y. Most of you have seen this pic before.... I can honestly tell you that although it is the biggest, all of my archery coues (7) are my favorite one.... there is just something special about getting a little lucky and being a little good.... on the right day, in the right place, at the right time.... on the Grey Ghost.... kind gets my blood pumpin'!! ;) :D

This is a great Thread. There have been a lot of nice Coues Bucks taken by folks from this site over the years. It will be neat to have it all in one thread. So hopefully everyone will post. Looking at some of the Bucks posted already gets the blood flowing for the upcoming Hunts!

My turn! Personal best are 109 3/8 and 102 flat, back in 2006 I thought I was going to die without a buck over 100' I am sure many of you feel the same, just a little hard work, spit and blood helps.

Best memory was being able to harvest a buck in October which I previously thought was impossible and to pull a double with my old man in the middle of no where

The one that started it all. Maybe I should have posted this under vintage pictures. 33 years ago, 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser.

This is the biggest bodied Coues I have ever seen. Estimated dressed weight 130 pounds. My wife Suzy took this buck at 389 yards with her 257 Roberts. I glassed him and another buck up feeding at midday. The hillside he was taken on was extremely steep and rough. We had to prop him up on rocks to hold him in place for pictures. I pulled the rocks out and he tumbled to the bottom of the canyon. Chewed his rack up some but still netted 92 after some broken tines. I couldn't bone him out where he lay and couldn't hold him back either.

This is my personal best buck with rifle or bow. I took this buck in January of 1999 with my bow. He grossed 115 + and nets 111 5/8. He broke a tine when he blew through a barb wired fence on his death run. I was too excited to worry about it. He's the only true four point buck I have ever killed.

Proudest moment, My daughter Sarah took this great buck after 5 years of hard hunting. Her first buck, and she made a great heart shot at 289 yards. 108+. Everything finally came together on this hunt, the spot, the stalk, the wait, the shot, and the smiles.

The one in my avatar might be my biggest. I have some I've never measured. I don't believe any have made it over 90". I can't seem to get by the first deer I see. Always have been pretty much a meat hunter. There are some awesome bucks on here and congratulations to all of you. :)

Not my biggest with a bow but definitely the best becauce my boys were with me. My 3 year old (almost 4 at the time) tracked him for me.

Oct rifle hunt 2004, won't say where just close to Arivica Az, he scores 102 3/8. I scouted him up two weeks before the hunt and again the day before opening day. I backed out of the area the day before the hunt and hiked back in on opening morning and was set up by 04:30 hrs. Took a little nap and waited for sunrise. Five minutes into opening morning sunrise I glassed him up at 410 yards. Five minutes and a couple heart beats later he was layed to rest.

This was my first Coues Deer kill and will always be remembered as ONE of my best hunting moments.

The field pictures are not that good as they were taken to far away. Lesson learned and I have not that mistake again. Then again I have only had one more (archery Elk) kill since then.

Personal best was taken November 1992 on Fort Huachuca, AZ. Scored 110 3/8 gross, 104 0/8 net B&C. I finally took it off the wall for this photo and had it scored this year!

Well I'm a little embaresed to post my pic. This is my 1st and only coues. He will not be my last. I spotted him with 2 others at 140 yards. after 40 min and 2 hill tops, they were all at 40-47 yards. the 2 bigger ones were behind bushes and looking me in the eye. This little one was at 43 yards and in the open when my arrow cut his heart in half. He olny went 17 yards and fell. Awsome!!!

Lucky first Couse scored 98 6/8 and was a 4x4. However when I killed him he was a 3x3. His first points were busted at the main beam and guessed them at 5 inches each which would put him at 108. Killed him on opening morning 1994 with my 22-250 as I remember at about 250 yards in Unit 21.

My second biggest is a 93 inch two point out of 6A in 1998 with the same 22-250.

I will have to take some digitals I guess and post them. My first buck was all scarred up from fighting and had two punctures in his chest that were several inches deep. He had several more in his butt. We hunted for the buck that beat this one up the rest of the hunt and never could find him. When I post the pics you can see on the cape where all the scars are.

My personal best happened Yesterday.

I made the choice to see how soon I could get my shoulder surgery

so I would not have to wait 6 more weeks with the pain.

I was able to get it scheduled for a week from Friday on the 9th

and made arrangements today to donate my tag to:

http://www.outdoorexperienceforall.org/index.html

If I am able to be apart of this hunt (or not) it will be one of the finest

no mater the outcome.

Keep these good folks in mind if you ever find yourself in a situation like mine.
