.257 weatherby mag and RETUMBO

Recommended Posts

i GOT A HOLD OF SOME RETUMBO thinking it would work in my .257 weatherby

and am having a hard time findng loads.

I have Barnes 80 gr. TTSX, 100 TSX, 110 gr. ACCUBOND, and 117 SST.

Other than having 120gr. partitions I think I have the bullet weights covered.

I do have ImR 7828 ssc that I will try but want info on retumbo.

I am aware of the H1000, H4831 and H4350 loads.

Anybody?

some googling for you:

http://www.reloadersnest.com/frontpage.asp?CaliberID=35

http://www.weatherby.dk/forumdisplay.php?f...desc&page=3

http://forums.cabelas.com/showthread.php?t...ghlight=retumbo

Looking for suggested load data for Nosler 110 Accubond with Retumbo powder. Only data I have is from the Speer #14 reloading manual, shows the following:

87 gr bullet - 74 - 78c grains retumbo

100 gr bullet - 71 73 grains retumbo

120 gr bullet - 65 - 69 grains retumbo

With these guidelines I could probably start out with 68 - 71 grains Retumbo with the 110 accubond.

you don't say the model .257. i would use primers other than the 215 if i was not shooting in belwow zero temps. a rem 9 1/2 m or a wlrm cci250. i would use h-4831 and 115 bergers or bal tips.
