Great Idea!!

I work in a family run finacial planning firm in Tucson. I specialize in Retirment planning, 401k, IRA's, Sep's etc. Also college planning for kids and most anything else you can think of in the investing world.

Fell free to call if you have ? or just want to bounce some ideas around.

The best part of being self employed is that it frees up alot of time to hunt and fish.

I work at Northern Arizona University as a Fire Protection specialist/Fire Inspector.

Before that I worked for a fire protection company that installed and serviced mining fire suppression equipment. Scott thanks for the picture of the equipment in the pit it brings back some dirty, sweaty coal dust memories.

I work for New Mexico State University as a rangeland weed specialist. I study ways to manage noxious weeds and how to prevent them from taking over native grasslands and forests. I also contract wildlife and entomological studies and ranch planning. If anyone ever needs a contact at the university for yourself or your children feel free to contact me!

I babysit computers for Wells Fargo. I work 12 hour night shifts and get a bunch of time off to practice my other "budding professions" of fishing, walking around the hills looking for wherever I parked my truck and hunting things in season B) . I just can not figure out how to make any money on those later professions yet...

I've been an Idaho State Policeman for 20 years, mostly as a resident position near Hells Canyon. I live in a town of about 100 people and have a patrol area of about 250 miles which includes the Salmon and Snake rivers and borders the wilderness area.

What the Heck...

I have worked for the City of Phoenix for the last 18 years, the last 16 at Sky Harbor Airport started off as an air-conditioning-tech, also did a/c side jobs for a lot of years as some of you others have stated. Got into supervision for few years, got out of air-conditioning and into bagage handling sytems, presently working as the facilities division liasion for the Explosive Detection System project, basically a high tech way of checking baggage for explosive's which will be totally automated from ticket counter to outbound plane. I might be managing the baggage handling system in the near future, I don't know if that is good or bad yet. And I don't get any discounts from the airlines, the city would frown on that. :)

What a diversity of occupations!

I'm mostly retired now, but I do write a book or two every year. Nos. 9 and 10 since I retired will be introduced at the SCI convention in January. One is on the history of that club; the other is about the hunting of Hubert Thummler, a Weatherby Award winner from Mexico who has entries in every SCI record book category (more 250 different types/subspecies of animals from six continents).

Before I retired in 1999 I was theTucson Citizen's outdoor editor from 1967 to 1995 and SCI's director of publications from 1983 to 1999. After returning from my first trip to South America last week I now can say I've also hunted on six continents.

I've hunted Africa a bunch of times and taken the Arizona Big Ten, but my favorite hunting is for any type of deer. Arizona's whitetails are at the top of my list but at nearly 70 years old I've forced to realize I'm too old and fat to do what it takes to hunt them now. My last three or four Arizona deer have been mule deer. I enjoy this forum and envy you younger guys.

Bill
