whats in your pack?

i know there was a total gear list earlier but i am excited for my hunt this weekend and already am all packed. so what do you constantly keep in your pack? for me its

 

 

300 win mag

bullets

sharp knives

latex gloves

binos

tripod

GPS

varmit calls

snacks

game bags

advil

eyedrops

bandaids

wet wipes

and water ;)

Petzel XP headlamp

LED flashlight

rangefinder

lens wipes & lens brush

topo map of area

parachute cord

cell phone for emergencies if there is reception

for this warm sunny weekend, maybe a small nylon tarp for daytime shade

dog leash

matches, lighter

This is what I carry:

 

Optics ( a given )

2 liters of water

pinons / granola / dried fruit

SOG Revolver ( Best knife/saw I have ever owned and holds a edge like no other )

Diamond Steel

Orange Ribbon

Orange Vest

GPS

Range Finder

And depending on weather o few other things.....

There are days when I add/subtract an item or two... depending on weather, if I am hunting or hunting for someone, etc.... but this is my basic everyday pack.

 

Oh and, extra Shells in my pocket, if I am hunting.

 

 

 

I have carried more but it is nice to have less when you expand that pack and fill it with meat and cape and horns! ;)

The last few years my brother turned me on to the use of glow sticks. They are amazing. Great for tracking an animal. Once you have tried them you will wonder how you ever done without them. Ever want to go back to last blood and wonder where the spot was? Never again with these babies. Once you find your animal you back track thru the woods and take them down as you go. They look so neat thru the woods at night and never get lost. Most will stay lit for 24hrs. :)

It's always good to have a couple water purification tablets in your daypack because you never know what could happen and you need water.
