couple NM otc Barbary down

Recommended Posts

Last couple weeks i have made a couple trips over to find some sheep. First trip we only saw a couple young lambs. But second trip we finally found them. We saw about 40 total, in 3 different groups. They are not the biggest but we were happy just to find them. One is 15'' and one is 20"

Way to go! I didn't know this opportunity existed. I just might have to give it a shot.

Thanks. It was a blast. We didn't find them till we got away from the easy access areas and hiked in a couple miles. Not best time of year to shoot them as their hair and chaps aren't as good as winter but beats sittin at home

We ate backstraps off mine last night and it was good. My wife even liked it which is a surprise. I marinated it got two days snd it was only like a 3 year old ram. I hear they normally aren't to good.

I put mine in a crock pot with beef broth, chilies, onions, garlic.

Put it on a tortilla with cheese, lettuce, red onion, avocado, and pico.

good stuff

I did not get drawn for Barbary this year. Will be trying to find a spot to hunt them on the OTC tag.

Congratulations on your success!

Tough hunting but very rewarding.

When you get into them, you really find a lot of them together it seems.
