I have a savage 7MM Remington mag. Iam getting ready to reload can someone tell me what type of bullet and powder to use for long distance shot ?

168gr or heavier. I really like the 168gr berger H4831, H1000, Retumbo and Ramshot magnum should all give you good results.

Any idea on what bullet you want to use?

 

I shoot 150gr Barnes TTSX over 68gr of Retumbo in my Tikka. Those TTSX's will put the hurt on an animal.

Just made a load for friends rifle. 168 berger classic hunter and h1000. Excellent velocity/spread. Work up to max load safely because this rifle liked it maxed out. Typical with that powder or retumbo. He had enough room to fit vlds in the magazine but classic hunters aren't so finicky and the bc is darn good. Good luck
