Rollercoaster Coues Hunt

Recommended Posts

So I shot him at approximately 430 pm and we found him the next day at about 2 pm.the meat was perfectly good still.the night that he was down must have cooled him down quite a bit,he was still pretty cool when we found him and that day was relatively warm.I was pleasantly surprised there was no spoilage.

Thanks everybody!

Beautiful buck! Way to stay after it - especially the work in finding and recovering him. Huge congrats.

I am glad you found him. One thing I took away from your story is to put a second insurance shot in if you have the opportunity. Thanks for the post and nice work.

I agree with that, and I would have if I could've seen his body where he bedded down.the shot I made was a clean double lunger and he still got back up and moved a ways. These deer never cease to amaze me with their toughness. Thanks for all the comments
