San Carlos turkey tags

Recommended Posts

The San Carlos Reservation started selling 2016 spring turkey tags today. They varied from their previous requirements by not making you fax in a photo copy of your drivers license. Only 150 tags available for each hunt, early and late spring seasons.

Can you purchase over the phone?

I don't know the process other than the old days when you had to camp out.

There's turkey all over the WMAT. I imagine those hunts are an absolute blast when the strut is full on.

I have been fortunate enough to hunt on the San Carlos for turkeys a couple of times.

Never been lucky enough to see "hundreds of them" like Ramirez!

This is about the best I've seen!

I need to take that guy along with me on my second season hunts!

Did not know it could be done over the phone. Thx for the tip! Called, got my tag, feeling good! Love that reservation, no quads, the land sees few people except hunting season. I remember when our national forests were like that.

Malay area has a ton of wintering birds from 1, 27 and WMAR, hence the "hundreds" of birds there in January/February. Most follow the snow line out of the area come March/April. It is a decent area but I've always found more hunting pressure than I want to deal with when I've gone there.
