Wall pedestal Javalina with custom jawset

Recommended Posts

Finished up this custom wall pedestal mount. This javelina had some unique features to its teeth and jaw. The client wanted the teeth of the mount to match the cleaned skull rather than have a generic jawset installed. So we molded the teeth and entire inner mouth from her javelina and created a custom jawset for her mount.

Here is a link to some of the work in progress pictures, if anyone is curious as to how we did this......

That is both cool and interesting. Nice mount too. What was unusual about the jaw/teeth?

Couestracker, if you look close at the pictures you will see that the lower teeth are crooked and overlap, the upper teeth were even more messed up. If you follow the facebook link there are pictures of the upper teeth, the front incisors actually criscross each other.

I've seen a lot of javelina mounts in my time and this definitely is one of my favorites. Great job on the mount. :)

Such an amazing looking animal. Really hope I can get a chance to chase them with a bow next January!
