Deadline EXTENDED

Recommended Posts

Guest wdenike

WOW!!! A guy is absent for a little while from the computer. Thinking a subject as trivial as this would have beat it self to death. Only to come back to see quotes from the game and fish web site. That still some can't wrap their minds around. " Including FAILURE to COMPLETE or TRANSMIT an application PRIOR to the deadline. Or any ERRORS in the application or TRANSMISSION." Sounds to me like. If ya didn't do any of the above wrong. BAM guess who is the one at fault. ( Fill in the blanks _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ). I guess this is another one of those examples. That sometimes very highly educated people people. Are just that, very highly educated and book smart!! Severely lacking common sense, and ability to recognize what is simply just plain right and wrong. Unless of course they happen to have an agenda. Now before someone continues to dig their hole deeper. Putting me in the waiting till the last minute crowd. Food for thought. I may have, more than likely put in before you. But would not make such a bold statement. After all common sense should tell me. That I don't even know you, nor do I know what date you put in. I also recognize that it would make no difference whether I could dream up a reason as to why a person would wait till the last minute to put in. As I am also aware that others business is NONE of mine. This is not directed directly at anyone, but if the shoe fits wear it with PRIDE. As there is little hope you will change any way.

Take care, Willie

P. S. I don't agree with fish & game much. But as long as they don't have their chit together. It's good to see them exercise common sense. And try and do what's right.

Websites use disclaimers all the time, but that does not mean that the entity running the site, is it not going to try and do right by the people using their site if an issues arises. People who use their system in good faith that it will function properly at anytime during the process. The one thing I can guarantee, is the IDIOTS whining over G&F doing what they feel is the right thing would be singing a different tune if the use of the on-line system caused other issues. They would be whining, screaming, yelling, and crying, if in the 11th hour a virus corrupted every bit of data making every application done on-line disappear, and G&F replied with "You Should have Read our disclaimer. We will only be drawing from paper applications this year!!!" I see a bunch of children constantly on this sight complaining how everyone should do things the same way they do, when in reality life is far to chaotic that anyone should even have such expectations. You got in the first hour it was up good for you! The other guy could not get in the last hour it should have been up, and got an extra day, I am glad he had the opportunity to. Those whining should get over themselves and go do some volunteer work or something more constructive than crying here about G&F.

This is my opinion. and yours may vary.

If my boss asked for something by close of business, I sure as heck would not wait until 4:59 to turn it in.

If I tell a person to meet me on a site at 6:00AM, they better not be late.

If one of my customers wants to meet at 7:00, I am there by 6:30 at least, and I allow a lot of time for unforeseen issues that often arise.

"Why does poor planning on your part constitute an emergency on mine?" should be G&F's response.

There is absolutely no reason to wait until the last hour to put in for a draw. If you miss out, you should not go hunting. Someone stated that people are used to mediocrity. That is their fault. G&F should honor the hard deadline set forth in writing, which is a reward to those who get their application in on time, and a penalty to those who don't.

Lance, I am by no means calling you out, but I thought your argument is perfect to use as an example.

You say you show up a half hour early for your appt, so what if the homeowner left and said "I know you were "on time", but I left because I didn't really care that I told you 7???

Bottom line, the server should work until the promised time or they should extend it. Procrastination is no excuse someone shouldn't get to put in, the server should work or be extended. I think some of you guys, a lot of you guys should lighten up a little...

Geez guys. Get over it. It happened. Its done. It will continue to happen. This same bitchfest happens every single draw cycle. Nothing has changed and it appears it won't change. You guys sit here and get pissed off over something you have no control over, bashing each other for what? Because people apply last minute? Wow.

The draw is gonna happen. People will get drawn. People won't get drawn. The cycle will continue. Get over it. Sucks reading everyone getting pissed off at everyone over something like this.

The North Koreans hacked it!

DAAAAAAVE!

Do you ever feel

Like a plastic bag

Drifting through the wind

Wanting to start again

Do you ever feel

Feel so paper-thin

Like a house of cards

One blow from caving in

This is my "most wonderful time of the year!" Guarantee you this thread is more entertaining and worthwhile than trash like 50 Shades of Pornography!

How about this; Open up the on-line draw and give no deadline. just tell everyone that it will be shut down sometime in the next 3 weeks, better get in early. LOL

Are you kidding me...the ACLU would be on that like white on rice. Do realize all the people that would be offended ? Do you realize all the people who would sue the AZG&F over this after missing the draw and now are suing for an early rifle 23,9,1 tag with high powered lawyer teams ? Not to mention the AZG&F dept. getting sued and shut down ? Other than that I think it's a great idea.

This has happened before in other states. I remember New Mexico and Oregon a few years back. There's another state too, but the name escapes me. It appears they've since fixed the issues.

I'm not defending the department, but this isn't unique to Arizona. The common theme from the above links: apply early.

I guess I just haven't been hunting long enough as most of you, but I don't really see a big problem with the extension. Yes people should have applied weeks ago. But then again, those that waited last minute has their reason (laziness, financial, priorities, unsure of schedule). Whatever it may be it's none of my business. The system should be able to handle the load but it didn't. It's cost benefit analysis thing for the department to make. Is it worth the money to be able to handle the load each year? Or is it worth it to make the late applicants happy and allow them another 24 hours to apply when the system crashes AND piss off the people who apply early knowing that it will not affect next year's #s because the early birds will be back regardless? Either case, the draw will happen and we all will know if we get to hunt or not. Maybe next year, they'll have 8 servers instead of 4.

I blame my wife for me not caring about being late. I am one of those that always show up early. She's one that shows up when she gets there (mostly late). I've learned to live with it because it wasn't worth getting mad everytime she's late or causes me to be late. Some day, maybe, we all can just live with it or the system will catch up and be able to handle the load.

Wish you all good luck on the draw.
