Sheep hunt success in Northwest Arizona!

Recommended Posts

I had the honor to assist Jerry Weiers on his sheep hunt in Unit 15D North.

Jerry had waited something like 23 years to get a tag.

Helping on this hunt was Arizona Wildlife Outfitters guide Cody Jalbert, along with friends Ryan and Jay Chan.

In the end, we had a couple more friends Johnnie Hoeft and Ryan Borden who helped pack the ram off the mountain.

We saw a lot of rams and lots of burros too..BLM ought to get off their donkeys and do something before something bad happens again like it did at Cool Springs many years ago.

Jerry had a lot of choices and on Day 3, he decided on this long horned giant that Ryan Chan spotted.

Look up AZSFW HB2072 and look who the politician was who originated the bill. Cant believe how many people dont know about this it was huge a few years ago. Basically Weirs along with several other guides and business men tried to pass a law that would sell 350 of our best big game tags to the highest bidder.

Remember the infamous tag grab a few years ago? Mr jerry weiers who don is so proud to guide was the hamberlin toady that sponsored it on his way outta the legislature because of term limits. He's now the mayor of glendale. While splitting firewood and busting ice outta water troughs this morning I imagined it was his face my shiny double bit axe was hitting. Man I split some big stumps easy. Lark

For those who dont know,

Here is a quick recap of some of the aholes involved who wanted to sell your tags to the highest bidder.

C&P From http://onyourownadventures.com/hunt...ad.php?t=249887

: Latest message from AZSFWC (AZSFW is one in the same):

Some of our members recently expressed concern with some proposed legislation, HB 2072. However, AZSFWC did not sponsor HB 2072, nor introduce HB 2072. We did hear an overview of the bill at our December Board meeting, and the Board voted to support the concept. We viewed the benefits as presented for sportsmen and women, youth, access and wildlife, not to mention Arizona's economy, as very positive.

Technically he is right. They did not sponsor or introduce HB2072 because none of them are legislators! They did, however, undoubtedly draft the bill in question, and paid Rep. Weiers $6187 during their December 16th meeting to sponsor/introduce it for them. They are not fooling anyone.

The AZ Secretary of State keeps records on all political contributions. This is from the Jerry Weiers 2012 political committee. The same Jerry Weiers who sponsored HB2072. These contributions totalling over $6000 were all made on December 16, 2011. 3 weeks before this emergency bill was created/made public. Coincidence? Maybe some of these names look familiar?

I believe it was president roosevelt that said, "commercial hunting is bad for hunters, but worse for wildlife."
