Recommended Posts

I recently launched two podcast episodes in which we discuss drawing odds, bonus points and 2016 forecast for Arizona Elk Units 1, 3B, 3C, 4A, 4B, 6A, 7W, 7E, 8, 9, 10, 22, 23N, 23S, 27.

Episode 108 is with Daniel Franco of Burnt Timber Outfitters

Episode 109 is with Steve Chappell of Chappell Guide Service

Hopefully some of the information discussed will help you in deciding which unit to apply for!

Ross- I hear you but I don't think there are any secrets anymore with all of the technology and ways people can communicate through social media these days. Thanks for your support!

I agree, I doubt it will make any difference on the draw odds for my family or I. I just like to try convince myself otherwise.

I can't decide where to put in for. Sitting on 6 points but dying to go chase Bulls!

I'm with you! Sitting on 8 (not 9 like I thought) and changing my mind every day. Today I am cashing in my points and going hunting this September....but I haven't hit "submit" yet...

I liked 108 and 109 but for some reason 110 is my favorite podcast so far ;)

That was great analysis. Jay you said that 23 South archery is a great hunt for the right kind of hunter. How would you define that type of hunter? I agree and have my opinions but am curious about what you think.

23 south doesn't have a very high elk density and it is really rough country. There are some huge bulls in there though. I think the hunter type he is describing is someone whomis physically fit and willing to really put in the leg work

I'm sitting on 8 and finally pulled the trigger on my application today. I've been back and forth since the regs came out. My original plan was to wait for an early rifle tag but I don't think I have the patience anymore.

That could have been a LONG wait. So don't leave us hanging. What did you do?

Some of the biggest bulls in the state have come out of there, but it can be very nasty terrain. Best for someone who doesn't mind putting on quite a few difficult miles.
