Why do they attack your camera?

I know elk can hear it snap photos and/or video. I've seen too many patterns of them coming in after the first pic.

 

And I have tried to listen for the cam to go off, but can hear nothing.

this is what i was wondering. i held it to my ear and listened, couldnt hear anything. but they must be able to hear it.

Ugh, that reminds me, I must get a new arrow rest as mine makes a slight noise as I'm drawing down on a elk!

Next time you are around your camera smell it you can smell i guess i would say electronics smell (internal components). That is what I always figured they smell.
