Dog Ear Wax

Recommended Posts

Sounds like an ear infection, maybe? My lab goes through it if I don't clean out his ears after swimming.

I have never treated it without going to the vet unfortunately. They give pills that I have to try and trick my dog to eat\swallow...hot dogs work well. And they give an ear wash to clean out his ears.

It's ear infection. Both our labs get them also when swimming to much. I have to get the name of med we put in there. Clears them up in few days

We used Oticleanse on the springers and retrievers growing up. I think the black waxy stuff is the beginning of a yeast infection and can go horribly wrong fast. If it starts to smell bad, the vet might be your only option.

My dog used to get the same type of condition in her ear. Comes from moisture. Had us start feeding her yogurt. Plain. Put it on her food or a big spoon full in her bowl. Haven't had the problem since. We fed it to our cats too
