In my experience, best all around for that general bullet weight are IMR7828SSC and H4831SC

Assuming 7 Rem Mag?

Are you looking for speed?

Accuracy?

Temp stability?

Powder availability?

Price?

What Lance said. I am using g H1000 and RL22 in mine. RL 23 is a more temperature stable version of RL22. I here good things about Retumbo too for 7rm.

Once you find your powder though I would say make sure to stock up a little. Powder is pretty easy to find right now, but that isn't always the case.

I have always had good results with H4831 or H1000 / Retumbo. One of those three powders about a grain off of max charge will generally run pretty darn well with the 160 class bullets.

H1000. You cannot underestimate the value of having a temp stable powder for your ammo in AZ where temps can swing 40-50 degrees in a single day on an elk hunt.
