HSUS Files in Arizona to ban Mountain Lion, Bobcat Hunting

Recommended Posts

"Kellye Pinkleton, campaign director for Arizonans for Wildlife, said hunters are cruelly killing wild cats for sport, not for their meat. She said the initiative also would end the use of steel-jawed traps, dog packs and other cat-hunting methods." -quote from the article

This will most likely be on the ballot, they have funding from all the typical enviro groups i.e. CBD, Sierra Club, HSUS and others.

If it makes it to the ballot, it will pass. Arizona is the 2nd most urban state in the union and they will play on the heartstrings of all the soccer moms in Arizona about how cruel killing lions is. Cost for fighting a ballot initiative is upwards of $4 million ........ No group has that type of money to fight it.....

This is horrible. Bears will be next. We'll have to get some of the national groups involved like BHA, The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports, etc who have lobbyists and funding to help fight these idiotic attacks.

A government agency can't officially fund a campaign for or against something on the ballot.

If it makes the ballot, it will pass. Once that passes, bears will be next. It's only a matter of time.

We've got an education referendum on the ballot in 2018 that's going to get the soccer moms out in force. We are also likely to see an initiative for recreational marijuana, which is going to get the stoners and liberal urbanites out in force. We are also going to see the usual mid-term kick against the party holding the White House, which will bring the anti-Trump movement out in force. It's a great year to attack hunting with the ballot box.

A main supporter of this measure is running for Gov. he moved here from Kalifornia.

Unfortunately, most hunting groups are more worried about things like evil trail cameras.

With all the foundations and conservation groups of which I belong to 2 and donate money every year why is there no funding and work being done on deals like this? Why are we the minority left defenseless? I don't hunt cats at all but this is very infuriatingly an attack on sportsmans way of life.
