AntlerObsession Report post Posted November 6, 2017 Took my boys on a backpacking trip deep into Coues country and they did a phenomenal job hiking, and filling their first deer tags. Couldn't be prouder. Something weird, though. Hiking the deer out, this not so little grub made its way out of one of the deers' nostrils. It was about 1.25" long. Found another one in the cape bag once we got off the mountain. Anyone ever seen something like this before?
Antmo23 Report post Posted November 6, 2017 It's a bot fly larva. Harmless and doesn't effect the meat.
AZbowhntr Report post Posted November 6, 2017 Great bucks. I have seen the larva in several deer nostrils through the years. It seems pretty common.
