Coyote problem

Recommended Posts

So I live in New River, and coyotes aren't uncommon.

Lately, they're in the yard and causing problems with the pets. So I'm taking the fight to them.

Wanted something remotely quiet (ok, quiter than a '06) so I'm thinking 22 mag rifle. Is that going to be enough?

I know where they are- about a mile out. I just didn't want to make too much noise.

I could stay up till 3am and use the bow, but a mans gotta sleep..

A 22 mag.will work, but a 22 with either stingers or regular hallow points will do the trick.

To effect a wild population of coyotes with a rifle would be a full time job for 10 men. Look into poison.

I thought of that, but too many good critters around...

You can target only the meat eaters.

You’ll have to decide how but of a problem it is to you. But if you shoot every coyote you see you’ll feel better but you’ll never make a dent

Summer desert dogs have very little fur. Still, go wack them.

Might have some mange on them too. Check out super colibri. super quiet. Not as accurate but will get the job done. 2 to the chest and 1 to the head!

i've killed a few coyotes with a .22 pistol over the years. seems to work just fine if you hit them good. a 22 cal pellet rifle to the head would work well too i would imagine

Kill the head dog and they'll move on until the next pack moves in.

An eletric fence keeps the coyotes and wolves out of my place. Keeps the turkeys, chickens, and dog safe.
