Remington .221 Fireball

Recommended Posts

Picked up an old bolt action pistol, Remington XP 100 in .221 Fireball. What's your thoughts on this round for coues? Definately using for javelina! 🐗

I have a rifle chambered in 221 Fireball. I wouldn't use it on deer. Too many better choices. Not saying it wouldn't work but a little off and you've got a wounded deer.

The 221 FB makes a great fur gun.

I have a couple XP-100 in 221 FB and I would definitely not use them on coues deer unless you plan to only take shots under a hundred yards and can place the bullet perfectly even then I would not do it. Lots better choices and the 10.75" barrel will really hinder your velocities with the heaviest bullet you could use which is 55gr. Use it on varmints and enjoy or sale it to me.

Thank you all for the input. I was admittedly premature with my question, as I haven't even fired this handgun yet, or looked at ballistics. But is definitely going along for javelina and predators.

There are theories out there it worked great for the CIA in Nov. 1963.
