Seems risky to shoot a deer set up at a buffalo

You mean the blind or arrow? Please elaborate.

Suggestions?

I think it’s risky to use archery equipment that set up for deer on a buffalo.

I switched to 125 grain solid broadheads for that hunt.  I got a tremendous deal on them.  And those were flung around the strip last weekend.  I switched back to 100 grain slik tricks (set up I trust the most)to finish off this hunt. Remember broadheads kill by arterial hemorage so just place it where needs to go.

Also speaking from personal experience packing out a bison isn't that bad.

What's your suggestion then?  That's the whole point of my post. Heavier overall, different broadhead?

If it were me I’d be shooting 70plus lbs 500+grains with a 3to1 style 125plus grain broad head. 3 blade or 2 but long and skinny.

How heavy is your total arrow now? What are all the specs of your set up.

I don't even know what my total weight is, never felt a reason to know until now.  Up until now I've only chased deer and pigs with my bow. Hence the purpose of my post. You seem to mirrror the thoughts mentioned in the video i eluded to in my original post.   I'm guessing I'm at like 450ish right now. But that's with tight groups.  I feel like if I can stay within 40 yards I'm good, but again at this point I'm just playing devils advocate with myself.

What broadheads would you look at in my shoes?

In no particular order

Cutthroats

Magnus stingers

Dirt nap

woodsman

jager

Northern

Steel force

That’s just a few reasonably price ones. Slick tricks are my favorite fixed blade broad head, it’s on even on my list for buffalo. I’ve never shot a buffalo but I would not want probably ok.
