The best part.

Recommended Posts

Welp, after reading up on nutrition and health, I’ve discovered how incredibly good for you bone broth is.  I’ve been really influenced by dr axe’s book, “eat dirt.”

now I feel guilty about all the bones I’ve thrown away over the years.  I’ve always considered the meat to be the best part, but now I’m not so sure the bones aren’t better.

So this year I decided to make organic bone broth out of my deer bones.

We’ll see how it goes.  But in any case, waste not, want not.

All our broths and soup begin with bone stock.

I have heard there are tons of benefits from this, but not sure it is my cup of tea. I have heard you need to cool it first, strain the heavy fat solids off the top after it cools and then reheat and eat. Good luck!

There’s a lot of info on the web and YouTube about how to make it.  But it’s my first rodeo with this, so we’ll see how it goes.

So, we sample the goods tonight.  The wife made deer burger lentil soup with deer bone stock for a base.

It tasted great.  Hopefully as good for me as all the hype.

Wifey is totally into. Any bones from elk/deer go into the broth. It’s not bad!
