Hoss50 Report post Posted December 28, 2019 The problem is how are you going to enforce the tag turn in program. Do you need a doctor's note to turn it in? Who is going to review the turn in requests. You can write rules on turning them. In, but good luck enforcing them.
vitalzone Report post Posted December 31, 2019 in some states that have the same option, there is a cutoff date to turn them back in. I think its a substantial amount of days before the hunt starts. Do you the AZGFD should look at that?

I think its a substantial amount of days before the hunt starts. Do you the AZGFD should look at that? I would say NO. Why? It's okay to get sick or injured early but not late? Why does it matter when the person turns in the tag? The next person in line DOES NOT need to take it. What is the problem is the tag goes unused? It's just one more elk, deer, sheep, antelope that is not killed. One less hunter in the field.... It's a win all around. The only problem I see are the bitter people that didn't get drawn complaining....because they think they won't get drawn the next year. I would agree if one KNOWS they are not going on the hunt- turn it in early or donate to a hunt group so they next person HAS time.... but if somebody falls ill, sick, has a major life event, or bad weather, or just plain doesn't want to go they should be able to turn their tag in.
